    Thought I would share this for those who might be interested. My car is a 1978 400A. Engine is back in car after extensive chain, tensioners, gasket/seal replacement, so decided to upgrade cooling fans to newer style Spal units, run dedicated power, relay and fuse circuit. Doing a bit of research, came across a Bosch New unit which is heavy duty and higher amperage down low.

    Correct rotation fan can be orderd from Bosch, all I had to do is model up a new adjusting bracket, which I had laser cut and plated. required only a small spacer on lower mounting bolt. Looks Factory.........

    BTW have two extra brackets, one plated, one plain steel if anyone wants to go this route, PM me............

    Engine looks superb ! Did you upgrade the alternator due to charging problems ?

    No problems, just updating everything for reliability. Now have one Spal fan pushing, one Spal fan pulling.

    Do you still have two alternators or just one? Did you change both? Maybe the '78 cars only had one.
