Good luck. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Lamborghini-Jarama-GT-/130676207928?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e6ce8b138
I agree on this as well... HELL buy mine at half the price and I will get a sun roof installed for you!! And whats with everyone starting to use my signature "888" at the end of their prices..I started that 7 years ago...and YES there is a hidden reason behind it LOL
A $125K listing and zero story line about the car? Come on at least sell us on over paying for it! Just a boiler plate eBay listing form and then it's wham bam thank you mam? There's plenty wrong in that engine compartment that will have to be addressed.
Kind of strange but they remove. Not many made like this and maybe it really is low mileage. But all that sort of stuff would be great to have in the listing instead of all of that useless oversized eBay boiler plate crap right? Do these guys even sell cars for a living? Where's Monte?
Sunroof = rare BUT I have seen several: 1) Blk/tan, ebay, I almost bought for 12-15k in Mass. rough, not running.....(all it needed was a distrib rebuild) Now in FLA w/ Art O'B. 2)brown/blk Art O'B has a second one. 3) Roy knows of a red on in his area 4)Red/black in SC in need of a lot of mech work 5) This car and one other that i am at a blank this morning.
I wonder if they leak or something? Fantasy Junction had one a while back too. I remember the one in Mass. That was pretty rough I think. Once these cars are let go it's soooooooo much work to bring it all back. But then I know you know that ...
#10322 is the 7th of the 20 sunroof ordered by & delivered new to Modena Car - USA, 14th November 1972. That blue color is not original as it was "Luci di Bosco/senape"... I'm wondering this price to become the current value of Jarama... one day may be...
All around the car was not too bad. Just one rust hole underneath. The cleaned up nice. Ran great once the distributor was rebuilt. The kid that owned Had no idea, thought the motor was shot. But most of us knew what it was. I was willing to go up and get it in a snow storm but because the guy told me to wait, Art got it. It would have been a great buy.
Interesting - I was talking to an older guy with a strong jersey/brooklyn accent (my apologies to those of you up there, I can't tell the difference) and I thought we had a deal for 15. I was about to wire a deposit and he said, "wait...I actually sold this car last year and the guy never came back for it...well, he just called and is going to come get it. " Maybe he would have sold it to all 3 of us! I guess that buyer was Art?
haha I dont have any facts... just made an assumption based on the hot post that was going on it!! (I have been out of touch over the past week with my own car dealings... now I am catching up) Let's be honest... how long was that car going to sit around before someone jumped on it?!?! http://www.catsexotics.com/web/used/Lamborghini-Countach-5000-QV-1988-Lynnwood-Washington/1049437/ Now we are waiting for you to tell us..... is it sold? Or for sale....
Yeah, and that's pretty much what happened. Art bought in early winter, had a big deposit and had an agreement with the seller to store the car for a few months. It was after 3 months that the guy was being a ****** and went to sell it again and planned to keep the deposit. I was one of the buyers again. Art saw the auction. The guy backed Art into a corner, demanded all money plus another 3 grand! That is when Art contacted me and asked for help. The plan was I was going to get that car out of there but a friend of Art's in Boston came through immediately and got the car out. I was hoping Art would sell me that car one day, but I came across mine, though not a better deal. Again, Art had the distributor rebuilt by Evans, cleaned the car up (and hopefully repainted those hiddious batman wheels), and now sits next to all their other cars.
I would better say : looking at the budget we need to pay for a restoration, a paintjob, a fine tune service... mechanical labor price/hour is flying so high by now.... 80 to 110 per hour depending of the garage/shop. I don't know about the price/hour in USA, but in Europe they don't fear to ask you similar price/hour as a doctor !!! Back in 2000, I paid 3000 for a full paintjob interior & exterior, today it is a minimum of 6000 (what I'll spend for my Islero) and some well known shops don't fear to ask 10000 to 20000... I believe many people MUST stop dreaming of old price paid 10 or 20 years ago. They have to be awared of the current labor price and they must accept the increasing values of all the good Lambo on the market because when you stop finish to compute all you've invested in it, it just worthes the difference with another Lambo who is still in needs of all these expenses to be done ! That explains the reason why they are more cars wearing a top asking price...
I'm quoted $25K for a paint job for an Espada these days. If you got a paint job for $3000 back in 2000 that was an absolute steal! It also depends quite a bit on what you call a paint job. Even in 1990 I think you were looking at a bigger bill than $3000 for a paint job for cars like this. Last year I got my track car pictured in my avatar painted for about $3K but I did all the dis-assembly and any major body work had already been done by another shop. That was more than $3K too! It's also a race car. It's looks very, very nice but it's not going to Pebble Beach ... At any rate asking price and then the final selling price doesn't always cover the cost of the repairs. You may be tempted to list it that high but if people won't pay then ...
I've 14x Porsche 911 resprayed for that amount... between 2000 up to 2005, all are racing cars... not for Pebble Beach ! ...If people won't pay then... to cover the expenses, it's up to the owner to think about if it worthes to do it on that specific model... I noticed these last 5 years that Vintage Lambo (exception of Urraco) have raised their transaction values, 125k sounds may be too high for this one, but I know another Jarama GTS that will worthes much more !!!
We may want to include the Urraco. 2 people I know are/were willing to pay 40k-50k US. I think since the Urracos have not exchanged owners in the last couple of years, except for a few, people are paying attention when they do come up for sale. Some are looking and willing to pay a little more now. The 2 on ebay are a mixed mess. The red one was overpriced & less desirable. The black p300, more desirable but over priced. Now take the black car and ask the red car price and you might see it sell. I maybe wrong but the Urraco is not a US25k car anymore unless it needs work. Same for Jarama, not a 30k-40k car anymore unless it needs work.
Sales are too few to come to any hard conclusion. It's still a case of: Are you crazy? You'll be under water overnight! Buy some else's poor investment decision and get a car that's already done. That applies to Espadas, Jaramas etc. Even an Islero can be dicey if you pay too much for a car that still needs work. Cars like that can be an even tougher decision but at least they're worth more to start with. Dealers typically want to suck all of the value out of those cars before any real work has begun. Most of us are just plain nuts right?
