I assume he means, an Audi skinned Lambo. I don't get it either. I also think that they are in danger of removeing the orignal soul of the design the way they did with the TT.
I never liked the looks. I think it's good that Audi made a 911 fighter though. McLaren will be next to go after them.
Isn't this just a one year model until the replacement R8 arrives in 2014 with the new platform shared by the Gallardo replacement also? Porsche also wants in as well to go after the 458... CH
not a bad update esp with the new dct which was really needed. this could have all been done 2 yrs ago though. regardless, i like updated models. thats why i got my 12 gtr i would consider this car over a 4 yr old scud for similar $. nice to still be able to get stick shift and steel brakes
I really dig the R8 and they played it safe on this one by just slightly changing the head and tail lights.
A considered replacing my S5 cab DD with an R8, but went with a new 991cs w/7mt instead. You just can't beat a 911 as a DD and occasional track-day car IMHO.
I would take the Spyder over the Gallardo or 458, looks-wise. (Maybe because the Gallardo is getting a bit dated after 8 years...) Plus you can get a manual gearbox if you want one. It's way too early to call the R8 a modern classic, but it feels like more than a flash in the pan at this point, possibly could be a franchise car in the way the 911 was for Porsche.
I've never liked it. It's a V8 TT to me . I wonder when BMW will build a 'supercar' again, like the M1. I'd rather have a 911 (gt3, none else) instead.
