I've known Lawrence for many years now, and if his son has "the goods", then I think that's great. However, there's no question that Lawrence has the means and the connections to make things happen when they wouldn't otherwise. He came out of Karts, and that's the proper way to do it. It doesn't hurt that he's had the best equipment, coaching and opportunities, though. Regardless, I wish his son good luck.

Whether the Driver Academy is a good idea or not, I don't know, but I certainly think Ferrari should be investing in and developing young talent in some way. Perhaps this will deliver better results than paying through the nose for hired guns that haven't put the wins up on the board as hoped for.

Young Lance, now 16, was involved in a big crash in yesterday's F3 race at Monza, but he is quite all right.
