Last weekend i epoxied the floor, and this weekend im going to paint the garage for the ferrari. i have a red 355. the way the garage is set up, the foundation of the house is about 5.5 ft high and then there is sheet rock from the top of the foundation to the ceiling. (about 1.5 ft of sheet rock) i was thinking of painting the foundation white and the sheet rock would be painted red with yellow and green stripes to act as a border. or the i can use the wall and the border to make a scheme like the ferrari shield. but im worried the yellow might be 'a bit much' what do you think? heres some quick ideas i came up with in ms paint also if i got to the depot to pick out paint, whats a good brand Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If I was picking between the 2 paint schemes I would pick the 2nd one. But you might try changing the yellow to white, I think that would look cool. I think painting it like the ferrari f1 team garage would be cool. Here is a picture if you didnt know what it looked like. http://www.tomshardware.pl/business/20050627/images/ferrari_garage_page4.jpg
For a smaller garage, I'd probably do that idea, but opposite. White walls, with the red lower stripe. It would make it seem a bit bigger.
its a small 2 stall garage. heres a pic, and heres an idea i had of what to do with it. where ever the sheet rock drops below the level of the foundation, it will be yello. the foundation will be white. and the italian flag as the border. Here is mine with your 2nd color scheme to give you an idea. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That foundation will screw things up a bit IMO. You may want to think about a flat black to cover it so it's not too noticeable. The stripe around the top is good with yellow up front and a centered shield if you can. Let us know how it turns out. PS - see how the black ceiling hides everything in the previous pic?
So, did you do a thread on how you epoxied your floor and how it turned out? (I think I'm going to do mine once I figure out how....)
If you are going to do it, go the official route. This is straight out of the branding guidelines book... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bleeccchhhh. I used to spend 40 hrs a week in a place that looked like that. I think Ray Charles dreamed up that color scheme.
lol no i didnt. Let me tell you though, it is a pain in the butt. DO NOT use plastic trays for your roller. This stuff is think and does not roll like paint. you must use a metal tray or else the plastic ones will crush up on you when you go to roll the epoxy on the roller. (like it happend to me) overall, i would say im pleased with the way it came out. two cases were enough to do the two stall garage. i still have one section left to do because i had a huge international desiel engine in the way (dont ask, my family is in the junk business so we have this kind of stuff lying around).; im going to buy one more kit for that section and to touch up the corners. im still trying to decide on colors for the wall edit: im not a fan of the red walls with yellow stripe
Here is something to consider, a company in Oakland CA called Moz Design produces sheets of colored stainless 4' x 8'. The cool thing about the product is that you can order it in Ferrari Red!!! This is without a doubt a very high tech look that you could use below your chair rail etc. It also has a number of grinding patterns. I will post pictures when we are done with ours!!!
In "Fantastico Ferrari Fever", Richard Pietruska suggests mirrors covering every square inch of every wall, and the ceiling!
Perhaps fine for the garage queens that don't drive their Ferraris at night, but pulling into a fully mirrored garage at night with your headlights on is a painful way to park (screws with your depth perception and with your night vision).
Here's another example for you. These projects are always stimulating. Good luck. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I did this... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The before and after really are a big change. Or maybe it is just the one before with the lawnmower and after with the F cars.
