NNO, I noticed that all the Euro Enzos have the sidemarkers (which the DOT requires here in the states), but the Euro F40s and F50s never had them so a conversion was needed for them to be in the US. Did Ferrari make all the Enzos to US spec both mechanically and aesthetically? Cool pictures btw, Nero is my favorite on the Enzo.
Dude... i thought i was gonna try and bullsh!t my way through this question, but the honest answer is that i have no idea why Euro Enzos have side marker lights... All Enzos are NOT mechanically and aesthetically identical, though... Apparently, a Euro Enzo CANNOT be converted to US spec, so that tells me that they're mechanically different... The aesthetic differences are explained, in detail, in this thread... The pictures have yet to be restored, but the explanations are pretty clear...
Cool, but it's strange that Ferrari would go out of their way for such small differences. I guess they don't want all the Enzos shipped to the US allowing the prices being controlled by the market and not Ferrari. I talked to a salesman at Ferrari of Central Florida a few years back about the conversion process for an F50 and he said the entire dash had to be replaced. For some reason, the guages aren't a separate part of the dash so to change from metric scale, it all had to be replaced (he also said it takes a long time to order and is very expensive, of course...). I believed it for a long time until I found a picture of the F50 guages, which clearly show KM/H not being lit up (it looks like you can change from MI to KM with a flick of a switch). http://img128.exs.cx/img128/7792/f50black69nz.jpg
BMW, i'm not sure what Ferrari's angle was with the Enzos... LOL, something tells me we might never know... Greg, no, 136739 is one of the seven wonders of the world... Black on black...
Actually, if you wait 25 years, you can import any Enzo without having to meet DOT or EPA requirements. All you have to do is just check off the first box on the HS- forms. It should give you more options when shopping for that Black on black Enzo you'll be getting I hope the import laws aren't changed by then though...
Very true... But i really want my FIRST love... i mean, ANY Enzo would do, but if i could one day own 134282, it would be perfect... Perfect.
*loads Ferrari chat* *looks at Super Ferrari section* *sees another serial number* *thinks 'Oh Gooddd... ANOTHER?!?!'* Hey, at least there are lots of pics!
Are there only seven Nero/Nero Enzo's in the world? I would have thought that more customers would have opted for what I think is the second best combination...
