Dropped by Hunting Ridge Motorsports (or whatever its called) and inquired about getting on the list for an Elise-- apparently there is a 14 month wait to get a new one to your specifications w/ a $1k deposit- but they have one coming in tomorrow with 500 miles for MSRP that is being traded in, the old woman who bought it couldn't get in/out of it comfortably... GREAT CAR, wish I was in the market for one right now...

On a side note, stopped by Miller and they had 3 Stradales (including the service depot) as well as 3 512bbi's (something you don't see everyday).. Also, Mercedes had 2 Maybachs in their service depot, one being the 57 and the other the stretched limo 62- very cool.

We can stop at Hunting Ridge as well being that it's within throwing distance to Greenwich. They also have Tom F-1's 360 there that they took in on trade plus a number of other interesting vehicles to check out. Looks like the plan is coming together gentlemen... ;-)

Hmm, I believe it was the silver/grey color w/ the premium package (leather and upgraded sound), no sport package and no hard top (I think that sounds about right).. Hope that helps.

Something of that nature- maybe 41k after taxes.. More then a good autocross car, drop a turbo in there, get it to 300hp and you'll whipe out any Ferrari (sans the Enzo) on the road!

Yeah but that still falls into the who cares catagory, i am sure a lot of people can outdrive you in your turbo elise with a stock wrx on a track.

The elise looks like it will be a fun weekend car, pain in the butt to get in, and no ammenities, but fun. It reminds me of a miata, cool to see a chick driving, but i wouldn't want to own one. Oh yeah, i wouldn't want to be in an accident in one either!

I don't think you could get in an accident in that car. Its so damn low you'll just go underneath the persons bumper and come out the other end.

Ahh, seems like you're jealous that a little 190hp engine could give your 'Vette (in stock form) a run for its money... Anyone w/ any track driving talent could school a 355 on a short course.. With 250hp it could take a 360, probably even the new 430... Did you see the thread in which the Lotus 7 clone beat Roland Linder in his F40LM?

Rob, do you think a Shelby Cobra's a girls car too?

you guys are right I am wrong, I refuse to talk car talk with people that know nothing other then what they read in magazines. Your argument of let me compare my modded car to a stock vette or ferrari, etc. its all crap. Here comes the harsh reality, 99.9999% of the people that can afford to choose between the two would take a stock 360 over the fastest best performing elise in the world.
Oh yeah ITS A CHICK CAR!

I think you have a problem. Maybe your buzzing. I don't see any arguments here except for you creating one. No one is comparing modded cars here and no one asked who would take which over which. tough guy

Rob, the Elise is 1/4 the cost of the 360, chances are, as you've said, if you have the money you'd get the 360-- but most do not- and most people who track their cars would rather a less expensive higher performing car that can be maintained for less $$$.. Take DrTax (I think it's him at least)- he races a spec Miata instead of a 360 because when he kisses the wall, he won't have to pay out of his ass.

There is no magazine racing going on, no ones comparing 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Side note: If you think I have no experience with cars; Emil, who has arguably more experience than any of us with high performance cars has previously praised this car- and said he would definetly consider buying one, are you saying he knows nothing also?
