Just looking for a set of wheels for my 308 GT4. Don't want to spend big$$$ and would even like to possibly trade my 14" Dino Cromodoras for them. Anyone know of a vendor that does trades on used wheels? Anyone out there want to trade or sell a set they have sitting around?

plenty of discussion on these...search 308 Wheels..

I guess you mean five spoke, and you have the Chromo 'basket' wheels?

I've put together 14" chromo 5 spokes. It was rugged! $1K for 4, no bolts. Then $65 for the fifth one, needing total rework, then a set of 20 used bolts for $375.

16" were only used a short time in the 'old' pattern you need.
308QV, IIRC. Big Bucks when they appear on ebay, $2K - 2.5K.

    16" repros are available..not sure on $$$$$$....anyone?

OEM will be big bucks unless you get lucky in a scrap yard somewhere......

Kinesis 3 piece will look economical, after awhile.....

    Doug,

Where were you last year when I was trying to get rid of my 14" wheels? I could not find anybody to buy them. Eventually did sell them on Ebay (approx $600 for the set, no bolts or wheelcaps).

I replaced the wheels with 328 wheels from Ferrari UK. Here's the thread:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11452&highlight=328+wheels

I did have to modify the spindle and dustcap to get them to fit, but it was well worth it IMO.

    Thanks for the link Dom!

$600 for five 14"s would be a very good deal!

    They are 'out there'.........

Have you looked at the Superformance repo's? They look just like the stock ones only much less expensive. I believe I will go with them when the time comes. I'm also leaning very heavily toward one of thier exhaust set-ups too. I like mine to look relatively stock but want to upgrade for performance and handling. It will never be a concourse car since I have the luggage deck instead of the rear seats. I hope you enjoy your GT4 as much as I do. I believe they are truely a diamond in the rough.

    ROTFLMAO! How ya' been?????

I didn't mean yours specifically, I meant that compared with my experience tediously reassembling five OEM wheels, yours were most likely very cost effective......

    You went 17"?

The Goodyear guys give me best support in 16" product.

They have to scratch their head a little longer for 14" rubber, then offer the Blue Streak Racing repros..........a little tricky running slicks in the rain but it's only a few blocks to work......past the FBI Building......

Snowed in. Bring a shovel, it's getting deep.

Yes, 17-inch Kinesis K27 with Mich Pilot Sport PS2. Also went wider with 8 front and 9 rear.

    16-inches! Wow, i am impressed :)

Ok, seriously, Goodyear folks are my neighbors here. Have a home in these parts... Screw 'em, i still prefer Mich :)

Well, only 14 inches. Size does matter after all.

Perhaps so, though my decor is a bit, well... Spare car parts are not part of the motif. You are right, in the correct setting they'd be sah-weeet!!! Just got tired of seeing them gathering dust here. Push came to shove, had a HUGE garbage metal container here...

Use the OEM lugs for my winter rubber/rims (Blizzak WS50 and Etoile rims). Well, with over three feet of snow you HAD BETTER use Blizzaks in these parts. Black ice is only the BEGINNING of the 'fun' driving here.

    >>> Dreaming right now of warm summer breezes, clean roads... and my usual driving 'style.' <<<<

License and registration please. Do you know why i pulled you over?

If i had $1 for every time... you know what i mean.

That's just GREAT! A master of the keyboard! I'm rolling on the floor!

YOUR fault the snow is deep, you had it good in Florida!

*post naked girl mixing sound board here*

I was going for 10,000 posts today...did not make it.....will work harder tomorrow!

The deal with ADD is you can only hold one thought at a time!

You post on that, then it slips from your hand like a minnow, returning the the great sea....to be replaced by the next minnow!!!!

That's right, 16"s to run, 14"s to show!!!

My wife bought me a set of the Superformance 16" QV replicas this Xmas. They are REALLY nice. I have not put tires on them yet. I'll wait until spring and let the car develop flat spots on the 14" tires. I just know the monkey that mounts the tires is going to scratch them though.

Although I did get out for a rid last week. We had a big rain to wash the roads, so I couldn't resist. The next day was cool but dry and the 308 never felt so good!

    Bird!
DO NOT go to the monkey! There is such a thing as "touchless" tire machines, also known as European machines. Most decent tire facilities have them now to handle the high dollar rims that are out there.
I had mine done at a Goodyear Gemini facility. Check around. The cost should be the same.

Good to know, thanks! I was planning on taking them to my local NTB to buy the tires and have them put on. I considered buying the tires at tirerack, but by the time I buy them, have them shipped, take them to a local installer, etc. it actually costs as much or more than just going to NTB. I'll call them and find out if they have "touchless" gear.

    JDubbya,
What a difference! You just can't beat the QV rims on a 308!

I bought my Yokohamas (Z rated) at Tire Rack for less than 100.00 each and had them drop shipped directly to an APPROVED installer. Check the shipping charges. It's not that bad.

Did you get the same offset as OEM or did you change it any to run the wider wheel?

As best i can recall, stock is 11 and Kinesis went with 13 as the rims are wider. In the end the final outcome was excellent whatever they did.
