Has anyone got a substitute part for 144810, the 355 gearbox casing plug washers? The Ferrari part is 50p for the washer and £20 for the yellow horsey box it comes in. Obviously, not ruinously expensive, but the feeling of being ripped off is strong in this one.

If it's not damaged, there is no reason not to reuse it.

Just re-use it. Or go to an auto parts store that has a selection of aluminum drain plug washers (common item) and pick the right size. But you can re-use it. The factory always says to replace these, but you don't have to. I've had a 993 for almost 20 years and it's running the same aluminum drain plug washers on the case and oil tank as when I bought it in the early 2000's. I have not replaced them out of pure spite for dumb maintenance recommendations (yes, I have odd grudges). Lots of oil changes, no leaks. These aren't rod bolts. The worst thing that can happen is it leaks a tiny bit, and you replace it.

A standard 22 x 27 copper crush washer for under a dollar is what most shops and every dealer I was in used.

The NASA supplied seal as shown is totally unnecessary.

If you mean the washer with the inbuilt rubber seal, they are known as Dowty or bonded washers. Just get the size of the old one and Google it. Not so expensive.

    Hi.
To be exact: Description for 144810 says "GUARNIZIONE D. 22,5 -28" (inner diameter 22,5mm and outer diameter 28mm).

I just measured my "22mm (on the packet)" dowty washers and they are indeed 22.5mm ID. The OD was 30mm, however, so a slight overhang. I don't think that would be an issue.
