    Thanks for your Reply! Do you know the reason for this? Was it dependent on factory? or era? It seems strange to me that they would have a whole steel car, with one part fiberglass. I am very interested in learning this history!

    You'll find that many (most?) vintage Ferraris with steel bodies had alloy (in this case aluminum) hoods, trunk lids, and door skins.

    Ok, thank you! I not sure I understand yet though. In the other forum they were saying the trunk was fiberglass. Are they aluminum over fiberglass? or aluminum? or fiberglass?

    Burton, there is no rule or pattern. Some PF coupes have all aluminum lids and some have all fiberglass lids. From outside they are identical, but you can tell them apart by their structural bracings. Here, the dark red car (0943GT) has a fiberglass lid and the other car (1493GT) has the aluminum lid. Hope this helps.

    Ferrari Vin# 1471 1959250GTPF was restored to factory original finish, appearing as it did in the 1959 Frankfurt motor show before Prince Bertil’s acquisition. Individual components subcontracted to those considered best at that topic. (Leather, paint,etc) Detailed by Norwood.
