    Can someone clarify functionality.

my iPhone 13 is paired with the car. If I don't plug it in to the USB or charge it with the lighter socket, all seems to work fine.

As far as the USB, sometimes when I run a USB to phone all works great (phone and media/music streaming) but often I'll go to media and it will ask me if I want to pair. I'm thinking, it's already paired?!? so then if I say yes, it takes me to a screen that shows my phone is paired for phone. if I click streaming/music, it say it can't do it. When it gets in the "I don't want to run streaming through the USB, my only option for music is to unplug the USB and charge with the lighter socket.

I don't get it. I feel like there is some sequence that works (like the USB can't be plugged in when I start the car, or the phone needs to be unlocked when I plug the USB. I've not figured out how to repeatably stream music while I while charging my phone with the USB.

    any thoughts appreciated.

Same with me on my ‘17 488 and ‘22 F8. Maybe it’s me but it was/is frustrating. What works most consistently now in my F8 is to connect my phone via Bluetooth first (streaming music or using Waze) then I plug in my USB cord (so my phone will be on charge).

Ha!! I didn’t even know you could charge your phone in the F8! I’ll try that. I’ve been laughing with friends that for 400k, it doesn’t have phone charger, garage door opener, blind spot monitoring, automatic high beams, power seats, heated/cooled seats, CarPlay etc etc etc
