    Did a search and came up blank ! Two of my 16" rims need a refurb as the paint has started to flake . I was wondering if any one has had the outer edge ploished and just painted the center silver , obviousely clearcoating the entire rims . If so would you mind posting a pic . I known this is not standard , but just wondered if it was worth considering .

    The polished dish look good . f308jack came to visit me today and his car his similar rims . Think they are split compomotive with the outer egde polished .
    Now that I have researched this a bit it turns out my car has original 16" rims ( or thats how I understand it ) with the extra grove on the rear ?
    I also read that on the QV there was an option with a polished outer lip and a darker grey center ?? Anyone have a set of these and could you post a pic .

    Hi Dave,

    Yes, my rims are Compomotive 3-piece, with the centre as per the original exposeed bolt design.
    I wouldn't polish the original 16" rims, just re-finish as per original.
    I'll tell you what: If you blast your wheels clean I'll swap rims with you; you know why I'd prefer to go back to original at this point...

    It was good to finally meet in person, and I must thank yoiu for the interesting afternoon. Your engine is going to be great!

    The 3 piece rims are spun aluminum and polish very nicely, the OEM rims are cast aluminum and I don't think a highly polished finish is achievable....
