I have REALLy have bad news to report. On Thanksgiving Day, fellow FCHAT/MAR member Dave and I drove to Deale MD on the annual Pie Run. Unfortunately, on the return home (w/Dave leading) he was stopped for speeding just outside Annapolis. Given the excessive speed, Dave was detained and is awaiting a bond hearing when the Court re-opens on Monday after the holiday. I am starting a FREE DAVE Legal Fund (PM me directly to send cash, money orders or checks). I think it proves that when given 2 options (Silver 360 or Red TR Ferrari) to pull over for speeding, the sexy RED TR always wins.

Hope you are released in time for the Holiday Party Santa!

The officer wouldn't be standing casually by the door if he stopped somebody at those speeds. I suspect the driver would have been in cuffs and on the pavement.

I'm with Robbie on this one!

Sorry to hear this. A world of hurt will ensue. As if it's not enough to suffer the likely indiginity of jail time, a stiff fine and an extended license suspension, the insurance company will pile-on, for sure. This is a BIG number. Not much wiggle room for the attorney. This is a DA's dream: 162 in a Ferrari.

Just a question for the Marylanders...where does this rank in the annals of the highest issues MD traffic tickets? It must be high up on the list.

You can be arrested for speeding...i'm not sure I believe this one though. When I was in high school some kid took his dads E55 AMG 146 mph in a 55 mph zone. his dad had to pay $5,000 in cash to get him out of jail, and to top it off, the idiot tow guy did $3,000 in damage to the car when towing it. They towed it in park. lol. not to mention, there was about 10 grand in attorneys fees once it was all said and done. Aint worth stopping at those speeds...you might as well keep the hammer down.

Why would he be doing 162 in a 45?

I think CW means, where does a ticket for 162 mph in a 45 mph zone rank as the highest speeding ticket ever in the history of MD speeding tickets?
That is, how many tickets were ever higher than 162 mph?

Also, how many tickets were ever higher than 117 mph over the speed limit (162 - 45).

He is thinking there can't be too many tickets higher than 162 mph.

Hope my attempt at being clairvoyant is on target.

Were they doing 162 coming through the intersection??? The road doesnt appear to be one that can be driven that fast. Plus going that fast there would be more than 1 officer there. And he wouldnt let someone take his pic.

I am amazed that no one has bothered to point out that a charitable fund for a Ferrari owner is a PATENTLY OFFENSIVE IDEA!!!!

If you can't afford to drive it (including getting tickets for flagrantly idiotic and dangerous driving), sell the damn car!!! (or the house, the watches, the gold chains, the girlfriend, the pink martinis, etc. etc...).

    God save us.....

    PLEASE: go buy a Charger!!!!

Yea--I think it is more of the Alpo/Born--we are bored let's start a stupid thread idea---////-999 mph.... Well the instrument is set up to read that high for the LED readout-3 digits-Not sure how accurate it would be at that speed:D
I have gotten readings as high as 147mph on radar..I have had guys take them to track events and get speeds up close to 200mph...
