Hey F-chatter, Today I took a few pictures of my custom build Hotwheels 1:18 Ferrari 166MM cars that I finished about a year ago. Sorry guys, I'm a big procrastinator, so finally I'm uploading the pictures for all you to enjoy I used several reference pictures to create the details on both cars for dead accuracy. Some of the awful items, I just had to replaced on the original HWs are of course the wheels, tires, and the exhaust pips. The gray color I used for the interior #20 matches the real 166MM in my Forza Mag. Very nice! Did you make the decals, or did you buy some decal sheet? And some other great models on the last photo
Hey!!! Is that a 1:18 166 or 212 coupe in the background????? Source? Pics? Very nice group of cars!!
Hi Rob Great looking cars. What wheels / tires did you use to replace the HW´s? Thanks for sharing the pictures. Kind regards Wolfgang
Hey everyone.... I bought the 1:18 spoke rims and tires from this website. They are a bit pricey but will worth it. http://www.scuderiamodelli.com/Inglese/index.htm
Nice! Even though not quite correct. #22 car had only one running light in the middle of the grille. It also had wire shields in front of the windscreens, not glass. Seats were olive-green corduroy. Finally, there were no interior trim on the car, and no seatbelts. #20 car had that number fin in the back painted red. There is more on both cars, but these are the most obvious. I know you were limited in what you could do to modify the cars, so all in all, great work!
I have seen these myself in person and the pics don't do them justice. Rob did a very good job on these. He also did 1 for me but I have it packed away at the moment. The Steerin Wheel Clock is from AUTOart. I had bought the Wall Mount version for myself, but Rob talked me out of it. Then he decided he wanted the Table Top version. So he sold the Wall Mount to a another F-chatter. Then I got him the Table Top when I had my AUTOart account. I of course had to get 1 for myself too. That thing is really cool! AUTOart has some really cool desk stuff that doesn't get much attention.
Yep.... that would correct on the 250 SWB Bertone.... and why red? It's my Favorite color. All my 1:18's are red
