    Seems a little high - but look what the first person paid. 612's are extremely well engineered and under valued. There are not that many 612's in Red around vs other current Ferrari models. I have the HGTC pkg and strongly suggest it even if its a retro fit. I think mid 160's is a steal.

    Extremely high IMO.

    A grey F1 with 2,052 miles sold at the April 30th (2009) Manheim auction for $130k. With all due respect to the current owners, these cars WILL NOT EVER appreciate. Ever. In any capacity. There's a similar red/black '06 with 3600 miles on eBay currently that's hovering around $100k even.

    The cars on eBay have an asking price hovering between $121-$135k, all MY05's. I'd offer $110-115k - if they were smart, they'd take it. Not too many people are in the market for a V12 4-seat, out-of-warranty Ferrari.

    And with due respect to you not only is your information incorrect and irrelevant on the '05's but your offer of 110-115k for the '06 in question is undoubtably unrealistic unless there's a story to be told.

    I paid $170k for a 2005 612 with 400 miles in January. My sense is that it is a little high and the dealer will need to accept something closer to $155k, maybe lower. On the other hand, red is rare and if that's the only color that works for you, you have to pay up. I think the only comparable car is the Bentley GT and its prices have dropped like a rock. I disagree that the 612 will never be collectable. It is very expensive, rare, a fantastic driving car, beautiful, the first all aluminum Ferrari, 12 cylinders, 199 mph and room for 4. Everyone I know who owns one, loves them and drives them. Also, they don't attract a lot of the negative attention that a flashier car can attract. I think the social/economic direction continues to be negative and low-key is a smart move and may support 612 prices, but not in red.

    Man that red one is nice!!! I'm in the market for a 456M, but... Dang, I wish I had an extra 100k to pony up for that one!

    Although I agree the HGTC package is certainly a plus fitting one after production would be in excess of 40K (over the counter) and therefore not cost effective.

    For 40?
    Exhaust note - taller wider wheels - suspension etc makes it a complete different car.
    A mid engine all new engineering on the frame remarkable for the size /weight, while a Sessenta is almost 400k where people were hand picked to own one - and its basically the same car! At 130 -180 a 612 makes luxury car sense while having less depreciation than any other car n that range and its a Ferrari! The back seat is worth 40!

    I'm looking to get a 2nd exotic and the 612 is on my (very short) list.

    I'd say that $160, especially in this market, is a good bit too high.

    Actually 40K was conservative. These are only approximate prices and installation would be additional.

    CCB's = 25K
    Exhaust = 13K
    Suspension = 8K
    ECU's = 7K

    Wheels are not part of the HGTC package however, the 19" modular may be necessary as a result of the CCB's. If so, wheels and tires, 10K.

    I'm not familiar with the 612, however I can tell you that seller tends to price its cars beyond home runs. More like Grand slams.

    A little ot: Can anyone comment on those floor mats and who might sell them?

    Edit: Meant to add, that's a gorgeous car!

    The HGTC does not have ceramic's - or it would be HGTS - but it does have the larger wheels. Novitec or HGTC just helps the car tremendously and puts it into a different category. I keep looking at other Model's in the Ferrari line up but cant pull the trigger b/c the 612 is just that good.

    Designation for CCB's for US 612 as follows; '05 = na, '06/07 = HGTC, '08/09 = HGT2

    You have it backwards-- the "C" in "HGTC" is for Ceramic. The HGTS is the one which does NOT have ceramic brakes.

    Personally, I think the ceramic brakes are the best part of the HGTC package. The rest, I could do without (and on my car, I have the ceramic brakes but no HGT).

    donv, what year is your car? OTO? And what size are your wheels, 18" or 19"?

    Mine is a 2008 OTO. 19" wheels (they're required now, since the CCBs are standard). Those brakes are unreal-- when I was on the track a while back, no fade, no issues-- quite remarkable in a big car.

    Ur correct - see below - Ceramics are just too expensive to maintain
    Both the HGTS (£7505) and HGTC (£15,675) share the same basic upgrades. There’s a new, sportier exhaust system, model-specific tyres, a gearshift strategy 10 per cent quicker than the standard 612’s, stiffer anti-roll bars, firmer settings for the electronically controlled dampers and a more laissez-faire set of parameters for the traction control, most noticeably when you hit the ‘Sport’ button on the steering wheel. Tick the box for the ‘C’ pack instead of the ‘S’ and, in exchange for your banker’s draft needing an extra eight grand adding to it, you’ll receive a quartet of drilled and vented carbon-ceramic discs complete with Brembo callipers.
