Has anyone experienced cracks appearing on the corners fo their 430? The car is being reviewed for warranty. Its an 09 16M. It appears to be a stress issue that just gets worse. Its on the front bumper corner and the rear. The areas affected are the upper corner area. Plus the screen in the center of the rear diffuser has come loose.
I was just curious if others had this problem and what was the determined cause. the car has never been hit. The 06 430 doesn't have this problem. Just want to make sure if this a fitment issue or over-tightening or stress and info can be passed on to correct so it doesn't come back.
    Thank You.

It's stress all right....from dragging them on the ground.....

Once flexed the paint will crack and show it, even if it's not enough to break the part......it doesn't have to "get hit"......you inspected the bottom surface????

The second clue is the screen "coming loose".....from air presure??? On mesh?????

Sounds like an exhuberant driveway entry, to me.....it's a low car and care is required on anything taller than a beer can mashed flat.......

It's never scraped bottom there is not even a scuff on the CF diffuser. I've cared for this car since delivered new in 09. As far as pics it's at the dealership now. I am in the industry but don't fix what might be warranty issues.
    Thanks for your input.

Restoration and detailing, not meant to sound cocky I just don't want to post sounding like spam.

As far a asking, I have locally to no avail. I was hoping to broaden the spectrum asking here. This is something you wouldn't see till it starts opening and spreading.

I will do what I can on pictures the car is 1.5hr away. The only pics I have don't show damage.

Maybe I should have clarified the rear started out hairline several months ago and just kept growing then started to open. The front a few months ago and the same. They are more on the flats leading into the corner on driver side.
I know this is difficult w/o pictures. Sorry.

A crack developed in my 16M bumper, on the left side where the vents are. Ferrari fixed under warranty.

Another crack has just appeared on the front of the bumper, at the top in the middle, where the bumper meets the upper body panel. Dealer is going to take a look.

    The car is bianco fuji.

The front is in very close proximity. Did they figure out the cause? Maybe a readjustment on fit? In my experience cracks usually develop from a. Impact or b. Fit issues resulting in the stressed area giving way, either the paint or composition underneath. I know it's not impact.

Not that I know of John. They were happy there was no impact. To me it is either a problem with fit, or maybe a manufacturing defect

So is it confirmed to be isolated to the 16m version or is it happening to the scuderia too ?

And has not happened to the original 430 ?

Does anybody know if the thickness of the plastic was reduced on the 16m and scud version to save weight. If so is it too thin on the stressed areas. ?

Or would bottoming out cause this?

I know in this case the car hasn't bottomed out.
As far as the 430 there is an 06 in the collection without issues.
The comment about thickness could be plausible.
The cracks did not show visually until I noticed wax was stuck in it. It has progressively widened since.
    It is driven regularly.

Yes it's happened to the scuderia as well. The area in question is where the heat from the rad seems to overheat the paint. The same thing happened to my scud and Ferrari fixed it under warranty. I have felt the bumper in that area when the car is running the rads and it's very hot.

I'm more inclined to believe it's a paint issue as well.
