"....should go quick..." haha....that expression sure gets used a lot on this site....and they rarely do
Why won,t it ? it a 430 Scuderia 16m only made 499 of them maybe only 450 out there in the world now , it collector
Buying a Ferrari takes work no doubt. People that own Speciale's don't usually "have" to sell. But there are a lot for sale. The manufacturers have built too many "special editions"
Reviving this thread...can anyone explain how this 16M went for $215k in Feb? https://www.mecum.com/lots/LA0217-287666/2009-ferrari-430-scuderia-spider/ Was it just misplaced at the Mecum auction and someone got a steal?
Not surprised. A bit of an off-color. It's fundamentally a 430 spider with some CF bits tacked on and tweaked shocks. Still has the cloth top and yesterdays F1 transmission. Just because Ferrari paints a stripe on a car or puts some CF in 499 models its a "limited edition". Market softness will reveal the truth. Even for the manual transmission desirability...
I have to agree. Not knocking others who own one or want one but I personally cannot justify the cost no matter how limited edition they are. I have a 430 MT spider and I cannot justify double or triple the price of mine. But that's just my .02.
Have you guys driven them? I've driven a couple of scuds and it's a totally different car from the F430. Is it worth 2-3x? Debatable. But it's a different experience. The F1 is insane...probably better (more fun and not much slower) than the DCT.
No desire to. Same suspension geometry, same exact clutch components, different shocks and a tuned engine. If the F1 was so great, they wouldn't have gone to DCT and Porsche would have adopted the design. If they were so great there wouldn't be like 10 on cars.com. Like everyone else, I'm going to the 458 for less money and a better car by every metric. Sorry, but my generation isn't going to overpay for an obsolete transmission.
not "everyone else" opts for a 458: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430-sponsored-yellow-compass-group/504095-sold-my-458-scuderia.html Having driven both cars several times (no expert), I would consider 458 as a more daily driver as it's much more comfortable/modern, but NO DOUBT the scud is the more exciting and fun driving experience. I did not expect to like it more than the 458/488 but I definitely did. What generation are you? If the F1 is obsolete, one could say the same about naturally-aspirated engines and manual transmissions. The Scud F1 is *awesome*. always respect your thoughts, Curt. Do me a personal favor and drive a scud (really drive it) and tell us what you think. We've gone off on a tangent here...
