    Greetings,

I did a quick search and didn't find too much on these early models. I'm doing a little research and don't know a lot about old Maseratis. Could anybody provide me with a good reference book on this model? Pardon my simple questions, but...

    How many were made?
    Any famous victories?
    What drivers drove them?
Does anybody have any VINTAGE photos they'd be willing to share?

    Thanks!

Maserati: The Postwar Sports Racing Cars by Joel E. Finn would be my usual reference. You would have to look on eBay or Amazon, it is long out of print.
I do not know of anything specifically on the early A6GCS.

Is there anybody else that has any history? My grandpa and dad used to own one of these cars. I'd like to find out more about them if anybody can share.

Taylor, contact Walter Baeumer at Walter Bäumer - International Maserati Research

He's very knowledge able about the car you are asking about.

He's chosen not to participate in the Maserati section because of a lack of seriousness or professionalism of a few members.

Let us know what you find out. I'd love to hear your story and or photographs.

    Ciao and best!

    ~Trev

    Really?

That's a shame if true. Walter is extremely knowledgable about all things Maserati. Especially the vintage racers.

Walter is an extremeley knowledgable person, which I have had a lot of arguments (some times interresting) with ;)
(Not on this forum though, old Maserati forum)
I don't mind an argument actually, but in my opinion he is partly responsible for this situation himself. He tends to start arguments on a regular basis with degrading remarks regarding spesific cars he don't like. DeTomaso era cars as an example. Anyway, my point being, you can't do that and not expect getting something back.

Walter is a nice chap as well, like I said don't mind an argument ;)

The other book is the Zagari / Orsoni book.
Joel Finn quotes 15 cars being produced in the 2 series.
If you tell us more on your grand father, Italian or Argentinian or may be somewhere else as several were exported to Argentina, some people may help figure out which car may have ended up with him!
