CN36 is a great tyre, but 197/70 14 is definitely too small.

Correct dimension for all Dinos is 205/70 14 - this tyre was specifically developed for the Dinos, the current edition was developed in cooperation with Porsche Classic.

Hmm. I'm not completely sure about that.

the 205/70R14 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 has absolutely nothing to do with Porsche. It is a tyre that we requeated and is distributed through the Pirelli Collezione Distributers. There are however a few tyres in the CN36 range that Pirelli were making for us that Porsche got involved and are now N homologeted. but the 205/70R14 CN36 is nothing to do with those guys. It is however the tyre that Fiat fitted to their Dino.

Not all Dino fitted 205/70VR14. Some of the early 206 cars fitted 185R14. I think when the Dino was first developed low profile radial tyres hadn't been fully developed. They didn't hit the streets until 1968.

Yes a 205/70R14 is like a low profile alternative to a 185R14, However i think some time ago we came accross someone having difficulties fitting the 205/70 on an early 206. ( i could be wrong, it was a while ago)

So also a 195/70R14 is also sort of an alternative to 185R14 ering toward the smaller size instead of the larger. There were loads of cars froim this period that fitted 185R14 or 195/70R14.

Apologies, that is extensive nerding that only really i care about.

    Some 208 GT/4's and Euro 308 GT/4's had the 195's.

I have heard of, and read, several complaints about the current Michelin 205/70/VR14. Is there any consensus about the Cinturato vs. Vredestein vs. Michelin in the same size?

I have heard some complaints about Michelin; however they are inconsistent and i dont have a great deal of faith in them. I still know the XWX are a great tyre.

The CN36 are also fabulous, I would suggest the CN36 will have more wet grip particularly.

I dont like the Vredestein. Its not just because they look so silly, but i have taken them off 3 classic cars now and fitted Michelin and the improvement i fealt was unmeasurable just more structure. Mind you i do tend to guive them a good thrashing. the Vredestein in my mind did have a place when it was great value, but currently it isn't so cheap. However on a Dino its not about price. I am a nig Pirelli fan and the CN36 is great and i love the way it looks. the whole thing, however on a Dino i would fit XWX. its just right.
