    Hi Rifledriver,
I do some work with Pass on the W194 project. We just posted an update and a short discussion on w194.com about authenticity (comments are welcome!)
This first of the W194's was not a dry sump motor. The other 10 cars had a dry sump bag adjacent to the cockpit, allowing for a smaller oil pan.
This reconstruction is true to the number one car (#0001/52) and has the "half doors" gullwing style.

Passarelli Restorations will be at Pebble Beach, 2012. If you would like to meet to discuss a project, please contact us through our www.w194.com web site. We have room for one more project in our schedule through 2013.

I am starting on the body as I write this. Temporary installation of the dashboard to configure the exact location on the frame and thickness of the defroster ductwork below the windshield. The cowl area will be ground zero for all the datum points of the entire body. The body will then be built using the topographic scale drawing I got from research archives.

I have a question for any of you, does anyone know the current whereabouts of the W194's. I do know that there are two in the McCaw collection and Mercedes Benz has several but otherwise I dont know the details.....

0009/52 has been determined to be the Roadster prototype seen in Colliers magazine in 1955. Now owned by Alberto Cefis in Bergamo Italy
