I have just come across an old 1/43 TRON metal kit. 1 version is the Supercortemaggiore winner of Mike Hawthorn and Maglioli. The 50's version of the Monza 1000kms.race. When making models I need lots of pictures, but can only find a couple;enough to make the kit but I would love to see a colour or a decent picture at least. Anyway the body has an inset along the sides which appears to be correct, but the body also has some sort of piping on each side.It doesn't look like flash, but is this correct? Can't see this pipng or whatever it is in the pics I have and in the Tron instructions. Car will look good with a broad white stripe down the middle and I am also assuming it's red!
Does anyone have any info on this car? It is a 750 and or a 500 Mondial shape.

Hawthorne and Magioli's car is a 735 with a Pf body, s/n 0444 MD. There is a inset beltline running from the top of the front wheel opening to the middle of the "haunch" of the rear wheel opening. No piping that I can see on any period photos, or period color photos.

Hi scrachbuilt, thanks for your reply.Spent ages looking through the old photos thread and found one of these cars with James Dean in the seat! Just behind his shoulder is a ridge like a weld or a plate joining two panels. It doesn't stick out like in the Tron kit...I will be sanding all these ridges off then. Thanks again.
