So I decided to take it apart and “refresh” it.

Just showing some photos of my progress...the original fabrication is “crude” by today’s standards. But I’m saving the original tanks, and replacing the core with an more efficient “Italian core” that will look original, but flow more efficiently and look original and Italian...

More photos of it completed will follow.

Just thought I’d share with rhe community..

I ordering a new core soon. My original core was missing, does anyone know how many “cooling fins per inch” were on the original cores? I’m guessing 10.

    Can someone help?

Please share the name of the company you are getting the custom radiator core build. I may need to have one built for a Khamsin.

    Ivan and Mark,

I’ll ask my builder if he’ll share that info.

He lets me do my own straightening and metal work, then he “sweats” the core and tanks etc, with Sliver, then I finish the rest...

    Talk to them.
Not cheap but well worth it.

Not sure either way---nor do I care;)
All I can attest to is that their radiators are genuine game changers:)
    Just my 1 1/2 cents.

    PS---
For anybody who might be interested---for the K or the Bora order something rated for, at the very least, 500 bhp!

Were they able to re core a Khamsin radiator to your satisfaction? My radiator shop can't find a manufacturer that makes a core with the number of tubes and fins they believe that car needs. Perhaps these guys have another source.
I know there are companies that will custom make a core .... at a price.

All I can say is that they built me a custom Bora radiator w/the exact dimensions of the original which slotted right in!

Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login After many hours of “tap..tap..tap” and sweating silver solder, and a custom built, high flow 12 fin core. It’s near completion.

I had to fabricate new lower radiator frame mounts as they were too corroded to save.

Next is slight finish work and new paint, the finish now is fresh out of the acid tank…hence the “raw metal” appearance.
