Hi, I recently found a few classic television broadcasts (Formula 1, WSC/Le Mans, F2, F3, etc) from the French archives of which I thought some might be interested. I've found stuff like live coverage on the 1966 French GP, 1967 French GP, 1972 British GP, 1973 British GP but also live television broadcasts from Le Mans: 1961, 1965 (won by Gregory/Rindt in a 250LM), 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, etc. Superb footage. Early 1960s television technology is great to watch, here's a short excerpt from the 1961 live broadcasts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjcUS7CcvBI Maybe not relevant to those into Ferraris but I've also surfaced three hours of live television footage on the 1966 Indy 500 (as it was shown live on television in Europe - 20 years before it was live on US TV!). Is there anyone else collecting stuff like this on this forum?
I remember that ! I was in hospital in France at the time (June 66), recovering from surgery, I switched on the TV, and - to my surprise - the Indy 500 came on the box. The race was shown without interruption (no commercials, what a bliss), the whole duration, and the commentary wasn't bad either. What a good afternoon that was !!!
