A little off topic, sorry, but it would be good to know why Ferrari used Lucas and Bosch ignition here and there.

The Lucas distributors appear to be used on various models from 1959 thru 1961. I was told that Lucas was making a bid for Ferrari's business and supplied them with a few distributors to try out. I was also told that these caps were used on some Jaguar race cars as well as Rolls. There are about five cars that I know of with these Lucas distributors factory supplied.

The car looks quite similar to the Letterman owned example. Also, I noticed it uses Microtechnica window switches - the earliest esample I have found so far.

Chevy rear end? Precisely the type of question the much hated and maligned Classiche certification might have answered.
