1963 Ferrari Lusso Ignition Switch Location

Our 1963 Lusso (2533) has the ignition switch mounted directly under the steering column and has a push button starter switch on the LH side of the dash where you normally see the ignition switch mounted. I have been told that the ignition switch location may be correct if the car was delivered to Germany. Can anyone corroborate that statement? Still not sure why you would split-off the starter function to a push button switch on the dash.
