I always feel a little disappointed when I read the description and they mention the V-12 is gone. And they also claim the v-8 has made the car better.

It's funny, I just saw this car on Ebay and was thinking what ashame it was that the sound and the spirit had left this car. I feel the same about guys who stick chevy 350's in Porsches as well. Crate motors need not apply!

How hard is it to find a V12 and tranny and what would be the approx. cost?

As a kid in the 50's and 60's, you would remember just how many conversions were done like this. The transplant was often an underpowered Vignale coupe of early 50's vintage. Looking at the ads in the LA Times would turn one of these up every so often. But remember, in the 50's Ak Miller and his Devin Specials or Max Bawalsky's Old Yellers hybrids were out there running along side of "conversions" like this (aka budget racing in the 50's) at Pomona or Riverside. People just couldn't afford better. Anyway, I thought I saw this offered for $50k not that many months ago on another F-car site. At least some reality in pricing is coming to this seller. If it was a 62 single headlight car...hmm...I just might be the next flakey bidder at about $20k. Must admit the vendor description puts my real estate agent to shame in puffed up and unbelievable hype.
But I agree, the front "bumper" has got to go...

Car would be a good deal if it was $14,900. There are parts there that have some value....
