I hope it's not an issue to start a thread as my first post, but I am looking to get some info and I appreciate any assistance you guys can offer. So to start, Hello, my name is Spencer, and I want a 275 GTB;) I currently have a few Porsches, and a few early BMW M cars, but now I'm ready to find my Ferrari. In RM's upcoming Arizona auction, they are auctioning off a 1966 275 GTB long nose 2 cam. As of now, I'm open to 2 cam or 4 cam, 3 or 6 carb, long or short nose, I'm most interested in finding a quality, known example, in at least driver quality to be used and enjoyed, and I'm interested in owning her for the long term.
So after some searching, I've figured out a few things about the car in question, but I'd like to know if anyone has any additional info on her that they would like to share with me. It was apparently restored by classic investments: http://classicinvest.com/portfolio/1966-ferrari-275-gtb/gallery/restoration
And it was apparently shown at Cavallino in 2007:

And as seen in one of the resto photos it was shown at a Amelia Island Concours d'elegance and it seems it was while being owned by this gentleman, a Mr. Moody:

I guess that adds to the flavor of this car's history.
I see that this car was lightly discussed on fchat a while back as well:

I'm sure some of these details will be added to the auction description, but I'm interested in knowing several things. Does anyone know if this 275 GTB has its original engine and tranny? Does anyone know any previous ownership history? Perhaps at one time or another a member here may have inspected her, as it appears that at some point she was a barnfind. If I'm reading right, the fchat thread seems to mention that the car may have originally been red, whereas the restoration shop's description says the car was being brought back to its original color of silver, any thoughts on color would help. Any other useful information would be greatly appreciated and I thank you all for your time and thoughts!

    Hi Spencer,

My advice to you: Write Shelby Myers of RM with your request. He will have all the answers for you that you need. You can get a Massini report from him aswell (this report will also have most questions you are seeking answered). This Forum is also a great way to get good answers from people who have long experience.

    Good luck. E

Thanks very much for the responses and the pm's. Good call E, I will get in touch with RM, and I'm sure that most of my questions will be answered in their writeup. I figured I'd post the question in case there was some instant deal breaker info that would come up, thereby allowing me to move on and continue the search. I didn't realize that there was a Massini report, I will make sure to get it. Terra, your response sparks my curiosity, pm sent.
