Hi all. I'm curious if anybody out there is aware or owns 09363. The car belonged to my dad in the '80s and he recently passed. I found a bunch of great old things, license plates and pics. There are a couple of previous posts that the car was at rm in Amelia Island in 2009 but was a no sale.

    Cheers
    Spencer

I know the engine and gearbox are installed in #10195, which is a car in Europe. I don't know which engine is in chassis "9363", which allegedly has a stamping 10195 as well , just to completely confuse matters. I believe the car in Europe has been checked by Ferrari and is a confirmed non-matching combination. Nobody seems to know where engine 10195 is today, but seeing as both cars were in France at some time, well that might shed a clue.

    Hello,
The engine from 09363 is in another 275 4 cam that has been certified as having the correct type of motor but obviously not the original.

I am the owner of 10195 which has been certified without any exceptions and restored by Ferrari Classiche. It was sent back to Ferrari and every component (body, engine, transaxle, and chassis) was certified as being original to my car.
I have read stories about several of these 275's and not one has been accurate.

To my knowledge, and I am not saying this is the last word, no one has come forward saying that 09363 still exists.

    I hope this helps.

I would be interested in anything relative to any 275 GTB's

The motor for 09363 is now in a 4 cam certified by Ferrari, but with an exception noting it is a correct motor but not a numbers matching car. The car that is being referred to as 09363 is and never was 09363.
10195 exists and is a fully certified and restored car just back from Ferrari Classiche with all original and matching components ( engine ,transaxle, chassis, body).
I own 10195 and the stories about these two serial numbers are laughable and certainly inaccurate.

It's been owned for the last couple of years by Barry J. who lives in the NE. My understanding is that it's true identity is actually #10195. I also understand that its been recently reverted to stock 275 GTB/4 body appearance.

I sent him an email so he's aware of your post.

    The numbers requested are 406-1
    R
    9X32

    and: 213
    1706
    100148

These are all original stampings as verified by Ferrari Classiche.

Hopefully this clears up the misinformation that has been passed around.

I do not have the chassis number of the car certified with engine 09363, but
I received that information directly from Ferrari Classiche.

Thanks for offering the definive clarification on your 10195. I wonder if we will ever find out about the "other" car that started this thread?

Does 09363 still exist as pictured in this thread? It's the most beautiful 275 GTB i have ever seen.

Spencer - thank you for sharing the Laguna Seca photos. If you do have old slides, it would be wonderful if we could preserve those. I would be happy to assist with scanning.

Wow! you guys are amazing! I am sorry about the misinformation on the serial numbers. Great to see this thread revived. Cool to see the car has been changed back to original but also sad to see those rear vents covered up.

I just handed off a a bunch of the slides off to my sister to be scanned but if they come back I will send any off. Of course I will post some of the pics as I receive them. I did also manage to find the original chrome cavalino from the front grille.

    Hi Spencer -

actually, may be you still have old documents that would fill in a piece of that puzzle? The car that your dad had bought in '79 as "09363", and which last year was certified to be "10195", had come via Alain Garnier (where in '76 the cars with these two S/N likely underwent their "transformation") from France to the States.

It would be helpful to narrow down dates, owners, importers, etc. between 76 and 79, if your dad's records show any of that. Even any sales ads, correspondence or other descriptions that show how that car was presented to your dad at the time...

This may well be the last chance to still permanently preserve some historic facts from that era. Again, I would be glad to assist with any logistics.

A yellow/black French registered 275GTB-4 identified as 10195 participated in the 1994 Tour Auto. This car was subsequently sold around 2001 to Belgian client who repainted it silver. When the car was available for sale again in 2007 it was noted to have engine 9363. I have no idea what became of the car after 2007. We still don't know which engine number is currently in the USA car identified as chassis # 9363
