Hi all. I'm a new member here and hope I'm posing this question in the correct place! I help look after a friends 1967 330 GTS and yesterday noticed an oange light which come on on the tachometer when the ignition was turned on and it then stayed on while the engine was running. Oil pressure was ok but I'm worried what this light indicates. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you Image Unavailable, Please Login
That light indicates that the manual choke is on. The choke lever is to the left of the steering column underneath the dash. See page 21 and the first fold out diagram of the Operating Manual. Push the lever all the way to the front of the car to turn it off. The choke also provides a fast idle during warm up. Many people recommend that it never be used. I always use it when starting a cold engine. As soon as the water temperature gauge moves, I turn off the choke and drive the car.
Wmuno, thank you so much for your prompt answer. That's great news. The owner is away and I was moving the car and concerned about the light and couldn't find anything obvious. I also know he does not have an operating manual so will try and source one for him. Once again, many thanks Raymondus
