My experience has been that they tend to run hot, at least in warmer weather.
Both comments are correct they have no choke and do not idle well until warm then in city driving it will over heat on a warm day .. but with a 4:56 rear it is an absolute torque monster...
Larry; pretty sure I sat next to you at Barrett Jackson in 2009. Was with another couple and my parents. The cars you are describing (and your profile) are exactly like the conversations we had...... If so, Small world....lol Kevin
I was definitely there and after looking at the picture and your profile pretty good chance you are right ..it is a small world for sure...
My parents; and the other couple; who have gone every year. My parents enjoyed your stories.... Kevin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sorry for the thread hijack; my friend john in this photo is a very big Mustsng collector; think you spoke about a Shelby you had.... Kevin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Another 1967 L88 Corvette is going to auction in Seattle this June 2014. This one is also a coupe and features a 'Nabers Brothers' restoration. Marina Blue paint with a black interior and no radio. Sidepipes are also a rare factory option on this Corvette. They are often added to Corvettes later on. Years ago you could have bought this Corvette in Ontario Canada for a lot less than the 3 million plus this car will likely sell for next month. I had a Marina Blue with white stinger and interior on a 400 3x2 a/c car along time ago. You can't beat Marina Blue in the sun
The 400HP motor with factory a/c is a very desirable combination and quite rare. One of the best 1967 Corvettes was also Marina Blue with a white interior. It had the L71 435HP motor fitted to a coupe version Corvette. On the tank sticker was noted Spcl Cylinder Conditioning. Chevrolet Motor Division gave this particular 1967 Corvette to Mauri Rose who drove the new Camaro Indy pace car at the 1967 Indy 500. He won back to back, the 1947 and 1948 Indy 500 races. The 1967 Camaro was white with a blue interior and the colors were reversed on the 1967 Corvette - Marina Blue with a white interior. The Corvette remained unrestored and with less than 5,000 mile when eventually sold.
It depends on who is in the room. Difficult for auction companies to repeat Barrett Jackson results for Corvettes. Mecum and BJ seem to be the big dogs in the high end Corvette market.
Kevin likes the ultimate muscle cars and special performance Corvettes judging by the variety in his collection. He seems to only sell when he finds something better. Lots of big tank Corvettes there for almost every year between 1963 and 1966. There were only two big tank Corvettes for the 1967 model year. One is white with a bright blue interior but it has a 350HP motor. The other big tank Corvette for that year hasn't been confirmed. There was a 1967 L88 Corvette coupe with the big tank but that particular car didn't have much in the way of documentation...
It likely isn't another Corvette as the 1966 Corvette with a big tank and M-22 trans also left the collection. So it might be another Hemi car. Perhaps one raced by Butch Leal? CH
ive got a 69' monza red/black int, conv 427/400hp auto trans, factory sidepipe car im in the middle of a frame-off resto, might be a good deal for somebody to get into these before they go thru the roof too
Rare one ... 1971 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible Original 426/425 HP and 4-Speed for sale by Mecum Auction
