You should mention this is an L71 Tri-power solid lifter engine. Less than 2900 made. Very cool machine. GLWS!

Also, although a warranty block replacement, is it still matching numbers?

A very large portion of what one would consider "matching numbers" would include the original block with the cars vin on the engine pad. A CE coded block (warranty) would not have the cars VIN on it. There is no way I'd consider a car a matching numbers car with a CE block, but it it's higher on the food chain than a similar car with a correct but non matching engine.

I believe that side mounted exhaust wasn't available in 1968, though it was offered again in 1969. Looks like an exceptional car.

As stated by others here, a Warranty replacement block is NOT A NUMBERS matching car, at least IMO> However it is MORE correct then a NON correct NO PERIOD replacement block.

If this car was a full 100% all "numbers matching" the price would not be where it is...

I would call this car an excellent "period" correct car. One to enjoy and have fun with with out breaking the bank in purchase costs.

You are correct, while the pipes are correct 69 product, they were NOT available on the 68 cars, however quite a few people added them after the fact, as in this case.

Looks like she has been updated with the 8" wheels instead of the 7" wheels that came on the 68s. Hard to tell, though.

They made eveb less 400 hp tri powers it doesnt make them worth more than a 435 hp car.

    I know I have a 400 hp car.
