    Hi,

    After a nigh on two year total restoration culminating in Classiche Certification here in the UK in March, I've decided to sell my 206. I live in Jersey where the maximum speed limit is 40mph, and I'm never realistically going to put it on the ferry to go on a driving holiday in England or France, because I can't bear the thought of ruining the perfection. Sad but true. The lesson learned has been that the next Dino I buy will NOT be restored!

    Anyhow, a few photos for those interested to look at, and the Dino Register to refer to for past owners etc. The car comes with it's tools & roll, jack & bag and wheel hammer, plus owner's wallet & books. There's also a big history file and photo album from when the car was in Canada (for nearly 40 years), plus all the resto invoices and a mass of photos on disc from when in my possession. The car is in exactly the same colours as when it left the factory ie Rosso Dino 20-R-Salchi and Nero 161 interior with Panno Arancio inserts. Also accompanied by an ownership record compiled by Marcel Massini, and a Dino Compendium individually signed/dedicated to "#00280" by Matthias. Interestingly, his wonderful book shows that this was the first ever Dino imported into Germany (by Auto Becker).

    The price is GBP550,000 with the new owner responsible for freight etc. (the local registration number is obviously NOT included in the sale).

    Or, you could just drive it down to 75pts and then restore it again! You have a brand new 206 Dino and access to some amazing places to drive. I know what I'd do. :D

    I have family in Guernsey and visit often, never made it over to jersey, but if its anything like Guernsey, i would never want to drive a nice car there! So many cars, so narrow roads, so many hedges... so much to hit that beautiful car.

    How on earth did you replicate those seat inserts ? That material can't be readily available even by vintage Ferrari standards that is rare... Lovely example though.

    This I dont really understand, If I am selling a car I could care less who I sell it too as long as they were honest and didn't waste my time. I have never worked with a broker but know many collectors who aren't internet savvy that would never see this car for sale unless possibly a broker put it in front of him..

    Anyway just curious, Good luck with the sale, BEAUTIFUL CAR!!

    Some brokers will typically try and chisel the price down so they can get their cut...
    They don't work for free.

    Tony,

    Sorry to hear you're selling your car. I fully understand not wanting to own a car you can't readily drive. When I was looking for my Dino, my wife commented that even if I couldn't drive it, I could go out into the garage and look at it -- and during the winter, I do.

    Best of luck with the sale, but with a car like that you won't need luck.
