What do we know about this one?...
What do we know about this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/365GT-2-2-Styled-After-330GT-LMB-Great-Car-No-Reserve-/130454365433?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e5fafa4f9
Craig: You should repost this in the Vintage section as this car falls just the other side of the line between Vintage and the 365GT4 model, which is the newer pininfarina body style with the 4 cam engine that debuted at the 1973 Paris auto show. As an aside, it is unfortunate that the body modifications visible have been made to that car. Even though the stock parts are said to be included, it would take a bit of work to restore the car to its original appearance and that cost should be factored in to any bid. Good luck!
I remember that pig! ... Uh oh. You weren't attracted were you? I knew it was that car before I saw the image. I remember someone asking what are the mods worth. The answer was , take the cost of undoing it. Put a negative sign in front of it and that's it. Simple really. The truth is that vintage cars and the people that are attracted to them and have the means are a particular lot. Finding the "right" buyer will be a task on this one. Not that they don't exist. There's always someone that wants a GTO on a budget.
That car has been around for a while-- search is your friend. Personally, I would look for a good one rather than starting with that one.
Actually, the thread is in the vintage section, along with tons of pictures and the car's history. Regards, Art S.
The mechanical systems don't look terrible. Buy it, grow a mullet and drive it. Most of the cheeze could be fixed with a hammer and a couple coats of POR15. Eventually it will be valuable enough to fix up, or you could always sell it as GTO donor for what you've got in it (minus the cost of the POR)....
