    Headlights covered by glass (or Plexiglas) no longer met changing US safety regulations as of 1968. The same also had an effect on the Jaguar E-type of the time.

    Great picture from Wayne undoubtedly identifies the mystery car.

    Why did the Daytona change to "pop ups"? Here is part of the parody from Car & Driver January 1970.

    If that's truly a development car like that, keep the modification for sure! The rarity and uniqueness far overcomes the ugliness (IMO) of it.

    Kinda reminds me of the headlights on the USDM version of the 1980 Rover SD1 (which, ironically, had the Daytona as it's styling inspiration...).

    I assure you this is a euro car and it is NOT the yellow car photographed above, Not a development car

    I had the car in my possession for 6 months Pictures are in my driveway
    motor at my shop


    The car in question has comp headlight treatment
