I can't find the picture on the net but I think I saw a picture of this Tjaarda-designed Ghia-built two seat mid-engined car with the engine lid up and the engine cam cover said Serenissima onit. But on the net when you look it up it says a Jaguar V8 3.5 liter is in there, sorry don't remember a Jaguar V8 until the XK8 decades later. The car looks like a Mangusta from the waistline down so I am even wondering if it is a rebodied Mangusta? The car was red in some pictures, don't know what other colors it's been. To me it's not nearly as attractive as a Mangusta but still has desirability as a one-off and maybe if it really had a Serenissima two cam V8 in it, the engine's worth far more than the car. I don't know if it was ever a running car or just a pushmobile (show car with dummied components). I wrote Tom Tjaarda, I'll let FC readers know if he answers. These old one off show cars have been popping up at the rate of about one per major concours, such as the Serenissima 308V Jet at Villa d'Este, so maybe this one will pop up soon, though I am not sure if they would let in a pushmobile, or confine their show to actual running cars.

Haven't found out if it is Mangusta-based yet, but how many of those engines did they make--a couple dozen? So considering the parts scattered far and wide in 43 plus years, you would have to hand make everything. Maybe when the car is rediscovered it will be bought by someone with another Serenissima V8 in their car just to have a spare engine.
Kind of reminds me of the problem with owning a Chrysler turbine car. There were roughly 55 made but I think only Jay Leno's is running because there are no spare parts, you have to make them!

Wally, the Tjaarda link states it has Mangusta underpinnings. the engine pic showns the Campi spare in the same location as the Mangusta and the windshield cowl and door glass look the same.

As to the location of the cars , one can only assume the estate still has them. Do you know of any Count Volpi cars sold?

    V2, whose inventory is that?

I thought those inventory pics were from ATS?
Mundy was Jaguar, so maybe there the engine confusion originated.

    Best,

    Jack.

Those are ATS 2.5 blocks taken at the factory back in the mid 1960's by Ed Niles. The Serenissima motors design was based on that ATS motor.
