Up for bid is my White (Bianco) 1974 Ferrari 400 Automatic, California Titled as a 1974, though the 400 was not technically produced until 1976, the predecessor 365GT 2+2 was virtually the same bodied car made from 1972-76. I believe the car is truly a 1976 model as its serial #22445 and has a clean title with no accident history, California Blue Plate Car and Euro Plate front (was bought this way) and looks great! The previous owner blew the 12 cylinder engine, and then opted for a Chevy corvette 350 motor to match up with the stock GM Turbo 400 Transmission, which makes a lot of sense for an everyday driver. Ive read a lot of forums seeing that the transmission was stock GM and with engine parts and tune ups at exorbitant costs, opting to complete the GM drivetrain with a GM engine for easy every day use. Some pure Ferrari enthusiasts who do not approve, oh well, bigons be bigons, everyone has there own cup of tea and this seems to be mine and others. We also added a tune of 4 glass pack mufflers and tuned the quad exhaust to have a low rumble sound similar to the stock Ferrari engine (See Video Link below).

It has about 35K miles on the chassis. As you probably know, all Ferrari 400's were gray market cars but all the EPA and dot work has been done--with correct stickers in the door jam. These 400 cars are Pininfarina designed, classic understated lines at the time regarded as The Gentlemens Ferrari with a 2+2 seat configuration and a price tag of over $100K new. Only 355 400 Automatics were produced in the 4 year production run and even less in the manual option, and only a handful came to the US, making this an extremely rare and soon to be collectable. Besides it's over 35 years years old and exempt in most states including California, for smog.

All gauges seem to work, except the speedometer (just recently stopped)--All windows and lights work as well (the headlight switch needs to hold for about 2 seconds)Much of the interior leather has been redone same color black by previous owner. I recently redid headrests, recovered dash vinyl and rear deck vinyl as well. I also redid the front and rear steel bumpers, along with side mirrors and resprayed them period correct black. I have an aftermarket system, but there has been no cutting or change in appearance, as well as the original radio in storage, which Ill include with the salewe repaired the gas tank, added a Ferrari styled engine dress up kit, and much more

Good solid car that really runs strong and comfortable to drive--Super driver, no issues would drive it to New York tomorrow, looks and sounds great. This is now my every day driver and is a blast to drive with great understated looks and little cost to repair and maintain, literally a $150 tune up! For all of you replica or clone buffs out there, this is your dream. A true Ferrari chassis and still a lot of original parts and looks of a Ferrari with the cost of a Chevy! I have well over $25K into this car from getting it back up and running from practically rebuilding the motor as it was not bolted properly and was missing nuts when first purchased, also replacing the shift linkage, new hoses, rebuilt carburator, etc. Not to mention numerous cosmetic upgrades externally and in the interior to make this Ferrari an excellent, easy going driver quality.
