My trusted mechanic who works on our Ferrari's is selling his muscle car to join the italian crowd - and to hang out with us more... :D

I thought I would post this ad to help him connect with others searching for a very unique ride...

His contact info is below - or you can PM me. He is a very smart and nice guy. I think the car will be listed on eBay and possibly at the auctions in Scottsdale.

    Conclusion

The purpose of the build was to create a one off unique street/strip vehicle. No other Plymouth Duster or its sister Dodge Demon looks or acts like it. The car throws you into the seat off the line, pulling like a freight train through the all gears. Yet, still manageable around town to cruise and enjoy the scenery. The car was designed to be driven and enjoyed partly because it started life off as a slant 6, automatic, bench seat base vehicle. Today, the vehicle is a good representation of a Mopar Classic combining the best of modern technology and classic styling.

Why am I selling this car?
I have many memories with this vehicle and have enjoyed a decade of smiles, laughs, and burning rubber. But I am looking for more excitement, particularly from road circuit courses. I am in search of an Italian vehicle to road race and complete my Italian bike collection. The history of my youth working with Ferraris has led me to pursue one.

    Pricing
It is hard to price a vehicle modified in a way to enhance the performance and reliability yet compete with a fully restored 1971 Plymouth Duster 340. On the other hand, it is one of the most desirable years for Mopar with the sharktooth grill, curious yellow paint only offered in 1971, and favorable performance parts.

I would categorize this car as a quality driver that can still be shown at car shows.

I have priced this car at $25,000 – which all things considered should be in a sweet spot for buyers based on what has been done and is included.

Clean car- Sold mine for just under that a bit ago, But it was a full restoration 340 / 4 speed / A/C car.

I'm assuming when he did the front disks and rear he converted over to the 4.5 bolt spacing and going away from the factory 4", which is a good move.
May have seen this car around down here..

    Great shark-tooth grill.

Any idea of the power output? The 408 with those heads, TTi headers and good cam can make loads of power... Ask me how I know!

    Nope, not correct.

You need to know A body Mopars better Rookie. The 727 torqueflight is an epic transmission, and with the reverse manual valve body (stop me if I am going too technical) and Cheeta kit this will hit so hard on the upshift that you wont think about a clutch pedal with this combo again.

Its spec'ed just right for its purpose in life.

I had a pristine 74 that I was making into a pro street car (tubing it out). Sadly, I was young and ran out of money and sold it prior to completion. Anyway, the earlier years where much better like this one. Nice clean bumpers with no rubber bump attachments, etc. Beautiful car and looks like a great value.

The 727 May be a good transmission, but my local Mopar Club members all value 4 speeds over auto. I own a 72 Charger with the 727. Wanna buy it?
Check out the difference in value between any big block or hemi with 4 speed vs 727. The sticks command a lot more cash. Best Regards, the “Rookie”

Hey I appreciate your input on stock collectible Mopars... But this is not stock, not a Hemi car, and not a B-Body. This my man is an A-Body with a stroker small block ~ set up for a street brawl. And NO OTHER combo will deliver the goods like this one. A manual would be a detriment for all but the cruise night guys.

There is no doubt a manual Hemi car is sweet, but it will not do street duty like this killer lightweight 727/stroker car. Period.

Ohhhhh. Nice reference! While Ronnie could row his own like no other, mere mortals mostly do better with a good stall speed torque converter ~ maybe even off a trans brake. But again, well played Mopar trivia there.
