Anyone here know this car on eBay? eBay Item # 4633458380 Currently at $65,100.00, reserve not met, 10 bids It is listed as a red/tan 1972 246GT, 44,878 miles, headlight covers. I checked the Dino Register and it lists the first owner as Bill Spear (1972?) NO COLOR/INTERIOR LISTED; then it was for sale at FAF Motocars in Tucker, GA (1978) where it was listed as BLUE/TAN; then at Cole Motor Classics in the "San Francisco area" (1992) where it was listed as RED/TAN; after a few years in San Francisco with Dave Goldsmith and Bob Waldschmidt (first names possibly reversed), it moved up to Seabeck, WA (1994-95?) with Stephen Habener; then to Woodinville, WA with W.W. Scripps (1996?); then to Pennsylvania owned by Fuzzy Spernak (1999) where it was listed as METALLIC SILVER/BLACK, license # F18-415F; and then to Hugh Hall in Mukilteo, WA in 2003(?) where it has since become RED/TAN again. I wonder if the Dino Register is accurate -- seems like a lot of color changes -repainted 3 times (possibly 4 since I can't tell what the original color was) in 44,878 miles. I'd like to make a mould of the headlight covers . . . . Mark
for the dino on ebay from time to time..don't recall the price but nothing crazy...seems the covers style is out and all stock (no covers) is the current fad.
Its at 67,600 now...that is my all time favorite F car...Too bad I justbought a 99 360...I would take a look at it. I would still love to own one...one day!
He probably buys the Dino headlight covers from the same place as dinoparts.com. They list them at: http://www.dinoparts.de/content.php?sID=9d6f66f970c54874d284a4290624869a&tpl=shop&mID=-5&fID=2&kID=140&cur=EUR&lng=en
A closer look at the e-bay Dino shows that the headlight covers are not properly sized. They should be flush with the fender all the way around (i.e. at the top, on the sides and at the leading edge). To get these right requires ALOT of custom fitting, shaping, etc. All told, however, a very nice car with a current bid of $80,100.
