just saw this on EBay....what a deal !!!!!http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-Ferrari-Dino-246-GT-Yours-for-39-5k_W0QQitemZ190108760127QQihZ009QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I e-mailed him the following: Trevor, I live only a couple hours away and will come by this evening or tomorrow with cash (40K) to buy the 246 if you are interested. Please e-mail me and let me know if you want to do a deal ASAP! Brian Willis Here is he response: (What a surprise!) Hello, If you are interested in the car please read this e-mail carefully! First of all I must inform you that I'm located in Budapest, Hungary. I recently moved here with my job and I had the intention to take the car here with me, but I discovered that it is very hard to register a US car here and the taxes are very high. Not to mention that here the gasoline is much more expensive. So, unfortunately, I had to leave the car in the US. The price is $39,500. The car is in excellent condition. It has no scraltches on and hasn't been involved in an accident. The motor runs very well. The car was always garaged. The car is still US registered and the tite is clear. The car is in US at the shipping company and it is ready to be shipped. The delivery will take between 12 and 15 business days (with insurance and 30 days return policy). I will pay for the shipping! If the car does not matches 100% the description, you will return it in maximum 30 days and I will pay for the return shipping fees. Payment will be made through eBay so we can be both protected! If you are interested please let me know. I have reserved the car for you, but I will need your answer in the next couple of days. Thank you, P.S: If you want pictures of the car please let me know! Not sure if I should waste any more time leading this num-nut on but it would be fun!
did they pull the ad....since he is reserving it for you Brian? Hahahaha. He is Hungary and likes to give stuff away. I think he wants the entire payment before he even considers shipping the car. Hahahaha I don't really believe anyone can fall for that....Mess with him some more, I would love to hear what he says about the ad being withdrawn.
This is so much fun! Trevor, I have my own private jet and articulated lorry/semi truck (I am a retired dot-com guy!) so there is no need to ship the car anywhere. Let me know where the car is and I will fly out there, look at the car and if I want it I can wire transfer you the money right then and there. You will have the money in your bank and I can take the car away with title/etc. This would save you the shipping costs and hassle, plus you would get the money within a few minutes of me deciding I want the car. PS: What is Vin number on car? I have friends at Ferrari factory and they can get my the entire car history with vin number! Please let me know as soon as possible as I am leaving the states for business in London and then off to the Spanish Grand Prix soon. (I leave Monday night for the UK) Sincerely, Brian Willis
Trevor, Just to show you how serious I am about this I have attached a JPEG showing that I have more than enough money in one of my bank accounts to cover this purchase. ( I have blanked out all of the account numbers-you just can never trust anybody these days!) As you can see, I can wire transfer the money just as soon as I see and decide to get the car. someone has had to fall for this, otherwise we wouldn't see people constantly running the same type of scam. how do you make apyment through ebay to protect everyone? other than paypal, is there some other means?
Same guy has done same crap before. I emailed him in reply to "buy" the same Dino at $40K about a month or so ago and got the exact same email reply that Brian did. Too bad ebay doesnt have hit squads to send out and whack guys like this. Terry
Hi Brian, The shipping is already payed by me and the only way we can do this deal is through eBay! In this way we are bough protected: you have the protection that you won't loose your money and receive the car and me that I'll get my money after I sell! You can't see the car because is in a sealed container that can be opened only in my presence! Like you I have another 50 buyers! What if all came and test the car or arrange their own shipping and one of them broke it? I'll be the one who pays! I bet that you do the same in my place! The pictures of the car are in the attachment. You will see the vin on one photo. For payment I will use eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection. Here is how the process works: - you give me your shipping address, - I start a transaction on eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection, - they send you the payment instructions, - you send the money into ebay trust account, - they confirm me that they received the funds, - I ship the car, - you receive the car, - they send me the money. If the car is not like described you will have to ship it back in 30 business days on my expense, but I am sure that you will love it. If you agree please send me your full name and shipping address! Trevor
Wow what an idiot, perhaps he should have responded with the following which is far more convincing: You can't see the car because it is in a sealed container in Fantasy Land conveniently located on Jupiter's third moon of which only I have the magic words to unseal. But hurry, its only available for a limited time because I have 50 other people intersted including three Martians, two Vulcans and a cheese grater. What if all of them came to test the car and lost the transporter signature while beaming it up, thus reducing my poor car to a bunch of free floating molecules? Huh, what then I ask you? I would then have to be forced to accept their lousy Ferengi battle cruiser in compensation. And the last time I checked the Hungarian DOT is a real pain in the ass on grey market vehicles. Know what I mean, man.
He's baaaack. And he's got a shill now. Who's Dino is the poster child for this silliness? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-1972-Ferrari-Dino-246-GT-Yours-for-39-5k_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6212QQihZ009QQitemZ190118306045QQrdZ1
check this ebay Item number: 140121440407 A guy writing all stuff about a $9500 fast sale for a 348 spyder that is supposed to be in Italy on an Island, photos seem like north america to me! I contacted the scammer to ask about the car,He told me to give him $9500 immediately to buy it.I saw on ebay he had bids well over $11000 at the time.I knew it was too good to be true. He then email me saying he'll take the car to show me and I said o.k. The day after he started making up all transportation excuses and other BS,I reported him to police and he must be trying it now with this dino. The scammer must fancy ferraris,Hope he never ends up with one! hOPE YOU GUYS ARE ALWAYS ON THE LOOK OUT! GOOD POSTING THIS ON FCHAT!
