Hi Jay, Car looks amazing. Very very nice color.. Will be a feast to make your first drive in a while. I have most of the data of your car in my database but please sign up for the www.dinogt4register.com I will keep you informed with our newsletters. Thanx Roel
Again, looks fantastic! I forgot to post this earlier, when I started work on my fuel pump. Here's a pic of a wheel bolt (rear one) you requested a while ago: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jay - Really beatiful work so far. I share everyone's insatiable desire to see the finished product soon! Thanks for the deal on Ebay. You should receive payment shortly. Jeffrey
Very inspiring work. Those carb photos are sexy!! Can't wait to see more!! thanks and good luck!! Russ
Looks great, keep up the great quality standard you are doing! BTW, so you know how the car ended up with the TRX tires and wheels?
Dave, I'm not sure how it ended up with the metric rims, probably the previous owner switched them out and kept the 14's. Peter, my wheel bolts look like this...
I can't make out the inscription on the heads of the bolts. Maybe they're a Fiat or other brand of bolt (?). Do the bolts have a conical/tapered seat to secure the rims onto the hubs? Maybe you can get away with using them, but probably best to get the correct type of bolts. Keep an eye on Ebay...
I am new to this forum and have really enjoyed getting the feel of things. Excellent bunch of contributers. I currently own a 1976 Alfa Romeo Spider which is a lot of fun to work on and provides me with a vehicle which is of the older genre, i.e. carbs etc and simple to work on. I have always enjoyed the GT4 and the other early carbed 308's, but can only get comfortable in the former. Having only seen and sat in 2 in the flesh, I was hoping to find someone on the East Coast who is an owner to have a better look at this model. Atlantic Canada is not a hotbed of Ferrari activity, so any assistance would be appreciated. I am impressed with the high regard for this model by all you owners. Please keep the restoration photos coming. Just excellent. Looking forward to hearing from you. Greg Gormley Saint John, NB
Original color was Nocciola 106-M-27 (It's a metallic brown) and the interior was Pelle Beige. Someone had painted it red and then yellow and changed the interior to black (very poorly I might add). Oh well it is only money. Here is the original color on the inside of the door panel
I've since removed the door window frames and removed the old felt. Put new felt in and updated the rubber seal along the window so that water dosn't pour down into the door. Hope to have all that finished this week.
I did that to my driver's door and hope to get that all done on the passenger's side this winter... Really stupid how they use felt along the bottom edge as a water seal! Useless! On my driver's door I used some rubber door-sealing trim I picked up at Home Depot instead, works great! I noticed your speedo in the previous picture shows Km/H. European or Canadian origins (a la VIN plate)?...
Your GT4's lookin good Jay, Looks like you'll be driving yours before me. You can take me to the shows in it this summer.
Roel, I dont have a GT4, mines a GTB but Jay doesnt live too far from me. I figured I could still goto the shows if I hitched a ride.
