I've just purchased a '75 Dino GT4. After reviewing the service manual it doesn't look like the car has a detachable sub frame to remove the engine/transmission and drive train assembly. I'm assuming that the engine has to come out of the top of the car in order to perform a major service. Can anyone point me to web site or a thread that has a good checklist or procedures for removing the engine/trans from a '75 Dino. Thanks........Chris

There are at least 5 threads with this information. You might want to do a search on 308 engine removal. Search words with Peter, Tomoshea, Verell, Pizzaman and you will find all the information you need. The process is straight forward with a few small twists:

it comes out the top with engine lid removed.
Protection needed for the rear wind screen.
It only comes out if you tilt it forward or backward 30 degrees or so.
    The AC stays in,
one of the headers stays in the engine bay
better with all the carbs removed

The engine/trans assembly does come out the top, but it is not needed to perform the major service, if you do a search, I think you should find a few threads on removal procedure, same as for other 308's. What is the serial number, mine is 11772

Thanks for the help. Those threads were great. I bought #10390. I'm still trying figure out the car's history. I found it in a horse barn down in Charlottesville, complete with a field mouse nest under the back seat. Title say it has 15K original miles. I've tracked down the first owner and the car's maintenance history from 75-90 with a little help from F of Philly. .......Chris
