    Good day All,

Just adding documentation... A one owner car in excellent condition no less! Although it does look like the Steering wheel has been changed?

    Cheers,

    Sam

I'm a bit puzzled by this car. It looks identical to mine but the cooling fans have 4 blades as per the 400 when they should be 3 bladed. Also the photos appear to make the dash and centre console look like shiny leather, not the crappy old mousehair that 365's are renowned for. Plus the steering wheel is wrong as already mentioned.

Dont get me wrong - this is a lovely car, I just wonder how original this one owner car actually is.

isn't this the one you've been looking for Sam ?

they are...look closer to the caps...they are the correct red w/ white sheathing.

this will be very, very interesting to watch...and could be indicative of where the 'market' really is for the series when combined with the recent UK 365 auction and 412 sale.

    thanks for posting Sam.

When it gets down to spark plug wiring, fans, and finishes, shouldn't it be equally as important to address the shoddy work at the battery cable ends?
For that kind of money it shouldn't be so easy to find glaring issues with appearance.

what "...kind of money" ? isn't it an auction...or have I missed the 'Buy-it-now' ?

it's a little 'scruffy', yes...but if it's a reasonably unmolested 'survivor' then it might just get "top dollar"...whatever that is...I have no idea.

to me it looks like it could driven as is or be candidate for a refresh....but the pics make it a little hard to assess the 'real' condition.

again, that's why I think it will be interesting to see where it goes...

Current bid $22,322, 2 bids, 7 days left, "Reserve Not Met." Dare I say it, that any other special interest, one owner, unrestored, 54,000 km (34,000 mile) car, 29 years old, that came on the resale market for the first time, would generate a lot more interest than this? Example: Hemmings web site, mid-70s BMW 3.0CS: BMW 3.0CS for Sale | Hemmings Motor News. Asking prices from the low 40's to 60K USD.

I have been watching this car, i am intersted in it. Has anyone had a car shipped out of France? Is it a nightmare or no biggie?

    Good day Brett,

Indeed, I like the fact that is "mostly" original and one owner. Sadly, I will not be pursuing the car, as I have too many other things currently on the go...alas...

    Cheers,

    Sam

    Good day All,

Just an update that the car did not sell on Ebay and did not meet reserve. The last bid was $38100 USD... However, I did some sleuthing and found some rather "interesting" info with regards to the highest bidder... Member Id: i***c (1530) . It turns out that this bidder bid a lot and with the same seller... In fact 96% of the bids went to this seller (see snap shot). I thought this was strange and I recognized that the seller had other vehicles for sale and so I looked them up... Sure enough this bidder was also active in the other auctions I quickly found. It is easy to see this, as the bidder has a rather unique feedback score of 1530 which can be found when one looks at the bidding history. I am not suggesting that something sinister is going on, but it certainly looks suspicious with shill bidding. Perhaps I am wrong and it is all a coincidence, but it does look quite odd...

    Cheers,

    Sam

Yes, I agree that this does not look good. If I was seriously interested in buying something that they had to offer, I'd definitely inform eBay about this suspicious activity.

    Good day David,

You are too kind! I am just tired and annoyed of stuff like this that occurs on Ebay... and so I like to dig a little to confirm a transaction.

Now... if I could only deduce the numbers for the next Lotto :)

    Cheers,

    Sam

where there's smoke, there's usually fire...and that doesn't look good...

but does anybody know what the actual 'price' of this car is ?

I've got a 365/400 expert/friend who offered to go see it for me and I just might interested...

At an asking price of 68,000 euros the absence of mousehair and the presence of incorrect battery cables suddenly become much more annoying.
