This car is right hand drive and has been in the UK all its life. It used to be a demonstartor driven by Ronnie Hoare of Maranello in Egham, Surrey. I have had the car for 14 years +.

The heater slider controls are inoperative. Whatever position selected gives a zero response. My next springtime job is to dismantle these controls and refurbish them.

Is there someone out there who has had a go at this possibly simple bit of refurbishment?
I would appreciate any advice, suggestions or "do nots" that you can suggest.

You might want to take a look in the 308 section here (try a search on 'gt4 heater' or similar) plus also there might be some advice in the workshop manual which is downloadable

Controls have two functions, heater temperature and air flow. Cables connect control handles in the cabin with components in spare tire area.

Your refurbish will mainly consist of replacing the existing cables with heavy duty low friction bicycle cables. Yes, plenty of posts in the 308 area.

Before then while in your contemplation and planning mode, gain access to the radiator water valves under the bonnet and observe how the cables are routed and used. Access may require removing a cover protecting the brake master cylinder & associated stuff under the bonnet.

You will also wish to replace the crumbly foam air filters in the fore end of the heater radiator core boxes and vacuuming the area. See the operators manual for your car for help in identifying these parts.
