I need some assistance if possible with the following Porsche:

    1976 934 Turbo RSR, s/n 930.670.0540 (No. 31 of 31 built)

I have been asked several times if the original color of this Porsche is the same as used on the Jägermeister liveried cars. Anyone with enough knowledge on these machines in period to know if our car's original "Continental Orange" was the same as that used on the Jägermeister cars?

    Many thanks,

    Bill Noon

I believe the correct color is called Rien Orange / code 8C1.

I recall a fairly thread thread here were someone was looking at a Jagermeister 962 up for auction. Maybe you can dig up the catalog to confirm the color???

    Many thanks.

I am not sure about the Jägermeister cars but our car has Factory paint code "107-9-1"

    This corresponds to:

"107" = Continental Orange (standard color from 1976-78 on all models.

The "9" means painted by Porsche at the Factory in this color and the "1" means it was "Lesonal" brand paint.

Just trying to see if there was a specific or universal color or code for the Jägermeister cars.

    Cheers,

    Bill

    Great link... Super thanks!

Looks like most of the experts are calling the Jägermeister color Rein Orange but a few are insisting that is is or was at times also Continental Orange.

I guess the good news is that my eyes are not what the used to be and at least on-line, I can hardly see a difference between the two!

    Cheers,

    Bill

The only spares the museum had were the original set of BBS wheels on some wickedly ancient slicks. They have a 1979 date code which was the last year the car was raced in period.

The car had a single private owner and it was actually driven to and from a few of the races in the 1976-1979 Seasons before going into seclusion.

I had one other time-warp unrestored 934 many years ago but after being sold through several brokers and dealers it ended up being turned into a 934.5 / 935 wanna be which essentially ruined the car in my opinion.

I was not aware the Drendel car was a pure 934 GR/4 road / race car. I thought it was a 934.5.

Do you have other details on that one?

    Ciao,

    Bill

    Bill,

Matt has several cars as you know including the first turbo rsr. The 934 is an original car and not cobbled Matt was a good guy.

    Hi Peter,

Super thanks. I just found photos Matt sent me ages ago of his 934... Same color as our car, Continental Orange. It looks to have been a fully restored show car. Quite a machine. Matt's passing is still something that is hard to accept. His Porsches were some of the all-time best.

    Again my thanks,

    Bill
