Hello gang, it's been a while and I hope all is well with you.
But to the point... It's time to say goodbye to my longtime friend Chassis #22331, a Rosso Chiaro 1977 308GTB. A great amount of time and effort was spent on this car to make it a great daily driver. From the Norwood electronic ignition and adjustable coil-over suspension, to the aluminum racing radiator, this 308 has been lightened substantially over a stock 77 308. Everything needed to make it a daily was done, from replacing all hoses, brake lines, fuel filler, to suspension bushings and quick steer rack and pinion. I honestly love this car but sadly due to recent issues I can not keep it. Without boring you, I'll just say that after restoring this car and driving it like I stole it for a number of years, the driver side door was damaged and while looking for door parts I fell ill and put the car into storage. Two operations and some time later I start to feel good enough to get back on the car and pull it out of storage to find my beautifully recovered seats rotted out. Son I was pissed! Well at any rate I get the door parts, fix the car change the belts and tensioners, and get it ready to play at the Crescent Classic, when then the unthinkable happens. A deranged neighbor in the high rise next door shot the car over 100 times with a pellet rifle including the new driver side window I had just replaced. With neighbors who lack the respect to leave nice things alone, and with my health not what it was, I need to find someone who can give this car the love it needs. The seats bottoms need to be recovered, but I have a matching skin. And the car could use a good paint job. And will require other odds and ends to make it perfect.

My reason for posting this here before posting in the ad area, and I hope Rob doesn't mind, is to let my Ferrari brothers and sisters here have first call on this car.
I have many many pictures documenting the work performed on the car and have many extras and parts which will be included in the sale.
I'll post some current pictures when I get a chance so you can see what the paint looks like.

    All the Best!

    Thanks, I appreciate it.
Yes I hate to say it but some of my neighbors suck. I live in an old historic district downtown full of beautiful Victorian homes, but directly next door is a 13 story low income high rise which houses a mix of charming retirees, as well as psychotics who feel the need to lash out against anyone who has worked harder than them to achieve their goals. My Dog Kodi Bear was their initial target. He was shot 30 times with a high power pellet rifle. Then the 308, which was shot a total of 128 times. This car is a steel body from Sept 77, and the engine is the more desirable 2-valve before the HP drop and cam change in 78, and would be the perfect project for someone. Included with the spare parts PKG, will be a number of sealed cans of original Ferrari paint.

To be honest I have yet to sit down and figure out a price.
I know I will never get back what I put into this car, but that was never the point when I bought and restored it. I started to repair the bodywork on the car but stopped when my so called neighbors opened fire again. Now unfortunately my spirit is broken and my health has declined to the point where I just don't have the oomph to get the car back to where it needs to be.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the Car. Horrible someone did that to your dog. i would have to be kept from shooting someone 28 times if they did that to my dog. I hope the police took care of the individuals who did this. Right now is the car dented from all the pellets? You have any photos of damage? Is the glass damaged at all? Thanks.

Any dents were removed, and I have a new driver side replacement window but it needs to be installed. The car will need to be repainted as well, unless that does not bother you.

I'll post fresh photos this weekend.

Hey Dave, I'd like to come over to your house sometime and sit and wait in the bushes with salt shot for your friendly neighbors to drop by. I'd have to be restrained if someone shot up my dog.

I saw your other post, about the stolen pressure washer. I'm sure there have been other incidents in your neighborhood as well. I would say it's a good time to move away...

    OT rant....

Here, there was a program to move inner city *residents* of south Phoenix into suburban neighborhoods in this city, using public funds, the idea being that moving trash people to a nice neighborhood would make them into nice people.

Well, right away, instead of putting trash in the dumpsters in the alley like everyone else, they just dumped the trash over the back walls into the alley. What were nice clean alleys became alleys filled with loose garbage and empty beer bottles behind the imported families houses.

Dog **** was removed from their yards by simply flinging it into the neighbors yards next door. Not to mention graffiti appearing on alley walls and peoples fences, vandalism, general rowdiness, etc, etc.

As I was told years ago, if you put a teaspoon of wine in a barrel of sewage, you have sewage, if you put a teaspoon of sewage in barrel of wine, you have..... sewage.

Dave, PM me a price you're thinking for your car. I "might" be interested.
    Thanks,

the current politicien are creating class warfare. I am afraid we will see more of that kink of behavior unfortunatly. And some state are allowing concealed guns no permits now... so pellets may be a blessing compared to bullets next.

    Let us know your price.

hope your health will get better

    For those interested...
I rebuilt the weber carbs and synced them, installed a Norwood electronic ignition system, replaced the water pump, rebuilt the alternator, adjusted the valves, installed new belts and tensioners not too long ago, installed new hoses, rebuilt the brakes and installed braided stainless brake lines, installed a fully adjustable coil over suspension system, installed new Polly bushings all around, reworked the cooling system and installed an aluminum racing radiator, the car never gets hot now, rebuilt the steering rack and added a quick steer unit, installed a Tubi exhaust and ceramic coated headers, braided fuel lines, K&N filters, fresh oil filter, installed a new interior carpet kit. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, but basically everything was done to make this a reliable daily driver. In doing all this work with modern lighter parts, the car is much lighter than a stock 308, which helps in the performance of the car by providing a better power to weight ratio. As a matter of fact, when I drove the car in the Crescent Classic, people couldn't believe I was keeping up with more modern cars. There was a certain 355 owner who's tail I was on all the way through the twisties. It saddens me to sell her, but unfortunately I have been living with a fair amount of pain lately and have been working partial days, and just do not have the go power to invest in working on her. Along with the fact that I still have some envious neighbors. When I bought the old Victorian we live in back in 1995, it was divided up into crack house apartments. It took a number of years to restore it, and as more people moved into this historic district we reclaimed the neighborhood. But, this low income high rise next door still houses an element that you wouldn't want knocking on your door at night. At any rate, here are some current photos.

Full disclosure... Before I fell ill the driver side door was damaged.
While I was searching for parts for the door I required two operations, and decided to put the car into storage. After recovering from surgery I pulled the car out of storage to find it had not been stored in the wonderful climate controlled environment as promised. It was covered with overspray, full of pine needles, and the lower portion of the seat had rotted.
