It’s time for me to sell the 512bb. I drive it too often around town and it really isn’t the best for low speeds and 90° Florida weather. That’s the reason for the 246GTS iso post.

I bought the car a year ago from redline restorations. In order to get the car perfect, I’ve spent ~$40k on the car. Obviously, part of this was a fresh major - and a lot more! She runs incredible now.

I also searched out and found the Campagnolo wheels that were on the car when the first owner had it. This car has wheel arch flares which were a dealer option when new.

I can send all service docs to a new interested party.

She’s fast and ready for a new owner to simply enjoy.

Priced at $280k which according to every car out there for sale currently, is quite aggressive.

Pics are from when I bought the car (pre-campagnolo). Both sets of wheels come with her.

I do. It looks exactly the same considering over half my ownership the car was having all the work done. These are just much better done [emoji23][emoji1787][emoji1787]

I’ll take it out and get some photos tomorrow.

    Beautiful car.

    Interesting that it's a '77. I had 21171, a car I purchased in Ancona in '85. It was listed as a '76.

    GLWS!!!

All Duesenbergs were built from 1928-1929, it was just titled as a model year the year it was sold. I wouldn't put much stake in all S/Ns being strictly chronological, especially coming from Italy. ;)

Doesn’t this car have a backstory about it coming out of a collection of one of Europe’s largest dealers? If it’s the story I’m thinking of, the organization was mismanaged into receivership and bankruptcy and the collection was sold off to pay creditors. If this is the one, it was a very famous collection of cars including many Ferraris.

Nothing to detract from this car at all, just an interesting bit of history and famous provenance. This car is beautiful and I would love to have it.

My favorite model F-car and I remember the day I asked my mom to schlepp me around to gawk at cars and saw my first BB. I was about eight or nine and we started at Vasek Polak to check out all the race cars in the window before going inside where the salesman humored me and let me sit in some of the cars in the showroom. I’m sure it was obvious to him that we could never afford any of those cars, but he was great and my mom was a bit of a looker, so I’m sure that helped.

I then spotted something red and fascinating in the window across the street. I dragged her just to the other side of Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa where there was a very small building that could fit two cars and a small office in it. There was a brand new red BB. Never forget it.

I made my mom repeat this ritual several times over the years, and she was always great and accommodating about it. RIP.

That color combo & apparent condition simply makes me cry that I don't have the $$ to simply fork it over to you & say "thanks." Absolutely lovely!

Yes, this car was part of the Kroyman Ferrari collection. Good spot!

I also think I know the spot in Hermosa you are talking about - I lived there for roughly 8yrs.

Very cool! This would have been mid-later 70's. When I said you could fit two cars inside, I was being generous. It was tiny with a yellow sign out front hanging over the window across from Vasek. Can't remember the name, but remember it was a small yellow sign. I don't think a dealership existed in those days, not sure, maybe in L.A. proper or BH. I think it was basically a collection of small indies who would get their hands on a car in Europe and bring it over to sell.

Drooled at Vasek regularly. Fun times!

    I love your car!!! GL.

    What a fine machine....GLWS!

Ron Tonkin would have been the only Factory store, at that time although you had our own Ed Niles, and Dean Batchelor supplyiing LA and California with a steady stream of slightly (!) used race models...

There's not very many 1977s at all, as I recall from my looking at one.
1976 -77 was still cranking out the smaller engine BBs...
