1977 Avanti II

This rare, unmolested & classic American Icon has spent it's entire life in California and Nevada and is in immaculate condition. The car was originally owned by a doctor in Sacramento and we have the original build sheet from March of 1977 which lists all options including AC, power windows, door locks & antenna, and codes for the exterior paint, interior trim and keys. The car has the original, and working Avanti II radio/casette player and a Nardi Torino wood steering wheel. All gauges & AC work and there are no dings or dents in the body. No rust. Undercarraige is very clean. Always garaged. 48,300 miles on the odometer.

This is truly a comfortable GT cruiser for four adults.

We found the car last summer in Nevada where it had been owned and maintained for the past 20+ years by a retired Naval engineer who, due to illness, needed to sell his baby. This is one of only 146 Avanti II's made in 1977.

After driving it back to the Bay Area from Reno (Great ride, ran smooth and cool), we've gone through the entire car and freshened up and changed the fluids, done several nut and bolt checks, installed new Flowmaster mufflers/pipes and driven it regularly.. One memorable trip on a Sunday morning to Alice's Restaurant on Skyline Drive proved what a major attraction getting item this car is as enthusiasts young and old came by to ask questions and to complement our Avanti.

Ready for the collector or the person who wants to drive to the country club in the only car of its type in town.

For California buyers we have a current smog certificate (passed on 9/15/15).

Needs nothing except an appreciative owner and a good home.

Yes I know what you mean Mike. They are a special automotive "period piece" design and are finally starting to appreciate in value. Time will tell where the prices will go for an original and low mileage classic like this 77 but I am optimistic that they will rise significantly in the next 3-5 years.

 

Still looking for a good home for my immaculate and all original 77 Avanti II. Took it for a ride to Santa Cruz this morning and enjoyed the trip and the excitement it attracted.
