Lovely - lovely. Mmm-mm-mmmmmmmm! Che belissima vettura, DJ. So which other Fcar, pray tell, is going to get the unenviable job of sitting next to such a beauty?
So many desires, so many choices. For the sake of power and acceleration with attitude a Testarosa comes to mind. Quite a bang for the buck if one shops around carefully. I need to own a 12 cylinder at least once before I die. A 512 Boxer wouldn't be out of the question either. I am rather partial to 355's too but those are currently out of my budget for the time being. If I had to have a V12 I would LOVE to have a 330GTC. Pretty ecclectic, huh.? DJ
OOOOO! I forgot! For a grand Touring car I wouldn't mind a 365 GTC/4. I actually like the styling better than the Daytona, even with the 'clown lips' front end. Rather affordable too. DJ
Hi Spasso, It's a real showroom under your hood! Very clean engine, but where ís the air filter? Removed to take the pictures? Congrats to the work on your Giallo Flyer ! Here is your reward: pic of a brown clown (last week from showroom of my mechanic) go ahead! cinquevalvole Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Cinq, Thanks for the picture. Nice looking 'clown'. The Vstacks are just sitting on the carbs for the picture. The aircleaner went on shortly after. Too bad it hides everything. DJ
Well, it's not a QV, just a 2 valve carb car with a few mods for horse power, airbox mods, short V-stacks and rejetting. It gained 9 HP this year on the dyno. Top numbers for the 308's in attendence. Basically I am too big for this car. My legs are too long and long trips are crippling. It's claustraphobic with the top on. I've done a lot of work to this car and it is an honest, strong driving car. The mods I have made to it are reversable for those purists. The original parts have been saved. I am not ready for immediate sale but the plan is to rebuild the carbs over Christmas and take car of the niggling odds and ends this spring. My goal is to pick up a Testarossa eventually. NOT RED, WHITE OR BLACK!!! I fit much better in a TR and the ergonomics are much better. I would love to pick up a Tr that is cosmetically challenged with a mecanically sound engine that might need a clutch or a 30k that I can do myself. I am probably getting ahead of myself by posting this but I was just wondering what kind of interest it would bring. D
I sortta figured you would be in the market for a TR what with the recent activity in the BIG airplane company. Wonder if Don still has the blue TR in SLC. Its not at the dealer and there has been no mention of anyone picking it up. The only drawback to that car is the strange lt blue inside. Think I'l try and sniff it out today. Give me something to do. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Sparky, Please check it out for me. I lost the number you gave me before. I would need to sell (or trade) the 308 first but that blue one might work . Would he part trade for the 308? 1. The engine must have good cylinder numbers, compression test and leakdown are a must. 2. I would be willing to do the clutch 3. With additional discount I would be willing to take on the 30k service. 4. If 1 through 3 check out I suppose I could handle that hideous two tone blue interior but ONLY if the material is in GOOD CONDITION. No shrunken dash or rips anywhere! A redye would be a must!! Thanks for checking it out for me. DJ
I will be selling this also to make room, It comes with an extra engine, three huge bins of parts, two spare hoods, a couple of doors a front fender, extra '70's vintage Enkie wheels (track legal), tires, springs, struts, rotors extra stock bumpers and bits. And last but not least, a differential that has been blueprinted and built for V8 applications, (cost 1,000 to build.) Needless to say, this engine is BUILT. Mark, A case of being single and suffering from OCD. Want to buy it? The 308 will be up for sale soon also.
Well looks like someone has been struck by the Ferrari train again! Getting a little anxious over the winter huh...
Just spoke to Paul and he has decided to keep the TR. Sold the red 308 and is putting the cash into the blue cruiser. I've got his phone no if you want. Gotta keep looking.
More clown lips. You can't tell me this isn't a cool looking car Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No unfortunately but ran across these high quality pictures and had to post them. It looks great in silver. I think these cars are underrated and wouldn't mind having one but only after I get my TR.
If I can clear myself of a bunch of other projects I have going I am going to prep it for sale. It's not all original but seems to be an honest 49k car. Just had the carbs rebuilt last year. Goes like hell! A strong runner but it's due for a belt service and a few other items so it stays in the basement for now until I can make the car presentable again. As is, the market is too soft to try to sell without the service.(unless someone would take it in part trade for a Testarossa)
Nice shots.. the last one is a great angle on it. You are right... silver shows off the lines of the car fabulously... GT
