I am thinking of selling my car. But I read the messages on Crystal Cove and I am not sure. Its a 78 308 GTS and its in very good shape. It wants paint (some rust on doors about the size of a quarter), but doesn't need it unless the owner wants it. The engine has been tuned, the interior done, carpets, rubber, wheels done. tires new (stock), garaged and covered. I am thinking of $25,000. I have books, papers, chairs and the trunk area has new cover. What do ya think?

or i got a really good deal on mine! same year and model, perfect paint, no rust. 60k miles. and undoubtedly the best color combo: grecio exterior w/ red. i paid $26k (from a dealer) and couldn't spend money to make it better, no matter how i tried! depending on color, you should be able to get what you're looking for.

Hey mantokwe, you have got quite an interesting 308 there. In fact, I have ridden in it several times with the previous owner! The car has quite some history attached to it --one of the most infamous cars from the website :)

Can you check to see if there's a Boxer or a 250 hidden in the trunk of the Grigio 308?

    :D

Actually, I'd be interested in knowing what condition that 308 is in, given the contents of this thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/341330.html (read from the bottom up)

    and specifically this quote:

    Thanks

hopefully he is joking about getting it, I do recall when I drove in it Matt dinged the door by accident- so the paint can't be perfect

The mechanic/garage owner who checked out told me that it was leaking oil everywhere and needed a rebuild so I don't think this is the same car (unless they put gear oil or something else in it to get it out the door).

Good luck with your car Mantokwe I hope you enjoy it and it provides you with years of trouble free service.

I also hope you join us in our activities.

    Best regards,

    Ron

    Tom,

don't foget about the blown coil on the way to Vegas and the oil and water temp at critical.

No Rust? what about the rust bubble on the drivers door on the lower portion towards the front and the rust HOLE on the front fender between the wheel and the drivers door on the lower part?

what about the rust bubble near the gas filler?

What about the door dings, scratch on the drivers door and rear deck lid?

The oil on your drive if from the leaking head gasket.

Also the drops of oil near the rear tires are from the leaking calipers.

That clunking sound is the worn out suspension bushings.

    Ron,

    That's my old car. Chassis # 24825

    The tires give it away.

It was a checked flag in MDR last time I heard.

There was also a scrap on the pass side front fender under the belt line.
