    I hear you. I've kept my S4.
For that analogue experience a 5-speed GT or GTS will do the trick :)

What a wonderful project! I think it's very interesting that these are suddenly starting to receive serious interest. They are wonderful cars & have been overlooked for far too long.

I actually picked up similar '78 Euro (mocca brown & pasha interior) a few weeks ago & have started looking for the few missing bits needed before I jump into a similar restoration. I jealous of that beautiful undamaged dash & original radio!

I am gratified to see Chris' project back on track! Enjoy the journey, and much fun in store once it is complete. My pact with myself is to try to log 1,000 mi/yr. on my cars. It is not always easy as there are a few that need the exercise and deserve to be fully enjoyed.

So, suffice it to say that since last year, I have put 3,000 on Minerva #107 (N.Amer. prod #96) as it is such a joy to drive. What incredible machines, had a nice romp with early 911 buddies in the Santa Monica mountains recently. Was told the rear squat on throttle around sharp uphill turns was a sight to behold. Behind the wheel? Simply, it is inspiring. That treat will be yours soon.

Chris and Jim, what were the factory options?

Also, I noticed you have the early HVAC vents, but the later finned door lock knobs. I am so curious about when the subtle transitions occurred in the first production year as the early cars were basically prototypes in production. If anyone knows this stuff, Jim does.

Hope your progress goes smoothly, call if you need a sympathetic ear! :)

Chris she is absolutely beautiful. You must be proud!

Do you know who owns your former blue 1982 928S nowadays? The 3k mile one that used to belong to me also.

As you may recall it was a barely ridden 1984 Honda Interceptor that led me to that car. That very bike is for sale today in a Wisconsin museum with the exact same mileage as when I sold it in 2008.

Whoever has our old car now should buy the bike so they can be together again haha. From 1984 to 2008 they were best buds.

Wow, what a great car. Love the early 928. Been going though my Christophorus collection and marvelling at what a fabulous car this looked/was, in period. One of my all time favourites. Congratulations!

Time for me to hit the classifieds...

Your best bet is to go to Rennlist, join the 928 section, and look at the ongoing thread announcing 928s for sale (and ones people have found for sale but are not selling themselves).
